@infamousmama_, yes. I know plastibell circumcisions are practiced more often than mogen clamp. They should give you both options. If that's the type you prefer make sure they know :)

I have three sons, All of them are circumcised. None of them seemed bothered by it. Even in the days after. Just make sure you follow the aftercare instructions and you won't have any issues :)

With my first he did okay, I was traumatized because the doctor didn't finish it because he thought there was an issue that wasn't there, but when we had it finished it was great! (That circumstance was not typical. I don't know anyone else who went through that). Very short recovery time and everything healed perfectly.

With my second I wasn't there for it because of my first experience but he healed within a matter of days and it was no big thing.

I was never given meds to give to either boy prior to the procedure.

We also used no medication. He had the plastibell circumcision and the ring keeps the area covered and exposes the skin as it heals so the cut skin is never out in the open.

They numb the area before they begins the procedure. It's very quick. My son seemed unbothered even while it healed.

My husband said it worked for my stepson. He slept through the procedure. Just be sure to apply the lidocaine as directed. That helps numb the area.
