I just have one question for now...you ladies aren't mad that I have to take zofran pills to eat and drink anything…

But..... I will say, I was very cautious of Zofran and refused it because of a very close friends personal experience. I will share her sons story and picture with her permission. Her son has been diagnosed with Apert Syndrome, which is thought to have been caused by use of Zofran consistently early in pregnancy. She too had severe nausea and vomiting and it was the only thing that helped her. He has severe face/hand/feet deformation. He has been thru multiple surgeries and has one coming up that will cost $17,000 out of pocket cost. So there are dangers. Risk may be small for most, but the possibility is there. In the same comment I will say I am very happy your baby is growing well and shows no signs of problems from this medication. It is scary what can happen. Some people just aren't as lucky.

You shouldn't care what "WE" think as long as you're fine with your choices

Who care what any of them think ? They not doctors do they do t know what's best for you and your body . They wouldn't give you something that would cause harm to you or your child.

It affects ppl differently and if it affected ppl more negatively then I doubt it would still be able to be prescribed

@armywife72515 well I do hope you know that no one here was trying to "scare you" ... because we have been accused of it and it was not at all what I was trying to do.

@sixplus1 I agree. I did take this carefully but it's what keeping us alive.

@armywife72515 believe me I understand. Like I said, I think I said at least... I took it my entire first pregnancy. I didn't know of any risk until my friends experience. Which is what made me more cautious. I took it some breifly in my second trimester this pregnancy because I had to... then refused it when other med worked. So no judgment here. I just hate for people to think there are no risk at all. Even a small risk is a risk and I believe we should all be as educated and informed as possible so we can make the best decision for our own personal situations.

@sixplus1 I understand why you wanted to promote the bad side of the prescription. I'm not mad about it and I'm sorry about your friends son. I realize that yeah she could of been deformed but I just felt awful when I'd be puking my guts out in the bathroom and she's like "mom when's this food thing coming?!" And gets even more angry at me which caues me to puke more and I get more upset and then it's a never ending cycle of sadness...

Let them hate ur doing what's right for u. They can't talk unless they have walked down ur path.

Well just to clarify.... it's not that it will cause birth defects, it's that it can. The possibility is there. I don't think any ones intention (at least not mine) was to scare. I was just sharing a story of what could possibly happen.

Why would I be mad at u for trying to make urself be less miserable and be able to eat and norish urself and ur daughter? Also what does it matter what anyone else thinks ur doing what's right for u and ur doing it under doctors guidance so they can all go piss off honestly

@britnik FINALLY someone who understands! Most days I take my zofran once and I'm fine. Sometimes it's a 2xs, rarely I take it 3xs. Mostly once or twice a day and I'm fine. My midwife explained to me that if mom has a heart problem and takes zofran it'll cause problems for baby. I don't have heart problems so maybe that's why she's doing fine. I'm not sure but just something that I was told.

@armywife72515 Somedays I have to take it the twice a day and sometimes I dont have to take it all..but I see it as, not to hurt anyones feelings..there are many causea to birth defects you cant always pinpoint it on one thing..cause I honestly think that if the OBs knowing we are in different states..OBs wouldn't purposely subscribe something to someone knowinh it will cause issues. Thats how I see it, if I can keep food down and my baby is doing just fine..I will do that to benefit both of us.

@beebaby oh he is amazing. Watching him learn and grow has been one of the highlights of my life. I get so excited when he reaches little milestones, as if he were my child. His mother us a close friend of my family and his father is my husband's boss. We are very close to them.

@sixplus1 Do you mind me asking if your friend was able to find out about his diagnosis when he was still in the womb or did she not know until he was born? I only ask because I also struggled with intense morning sickness and I took zofran but only on the days I really needed to and couldn't just push myself through it & I worry that he is harmed and I won't know until he's born.

@britnik I think I lost roughly 10lbs in the 2wks my hubby was gone for military stuff and I stayed with my parents. They believed me after those couple of weeks that it was just more than just morning sickness.

@armywife72515 I am on Zofran for the same exact reason, was just put on it a week ago. I have lost 31lbs in 3 weeks from not being able to eat and puking.

@sixplus1 believe me I tried what felt like every stomach remedy that my family and I could think of. Ginger, tea, soup, broth, lemon something, slept when I could. Yet the trips to the ER and urgent care kept coming.

HG is no joke and if it's a choice between being able to eat and drink or puking my guts out in the bathroom and going to the ER to get fluids then I'll be happy to take the pill.
