Ugh I feel like I'm the only one on the planet that gets cold sores. I literally get one every month…

I used to get them all the time. Stress made me break out with them. I took Zovirax to keep the outbreaks down. L-lysine daily can help, too.

@lovelily, with taking that how often did you get outbreaks? I literally had a cold sore and the day that I woke up without a scab a new one was forming in a different spot. I've tried the L-lysine for about 6 months twice daily and there was no change. I still got them all the time

@miniwolfe, yeah I'll have to talk to my doctor then! I have an appointment with an endocrinologist soon so maybe they can just prescribe something instead of me going to my gp office

@martinajjones I would take the Zovirax when I started to feel one coming on...the itchy-ness around my mouth, etc. I would take 2 immediately and then one a day for a couple of days after. It helped me avoid the breakout every time. I took it that way to avoid having to take a pill everyday and made the prescription last longer.

@lovelily, @miniwolfe, thanks lady's I will try to be put on something to get them under control. When I'm pregnant is about the only time I can swing them and they show less frequently. It's just irritating! I'll message my doctor now about it
