Quick question.... I just read somewhere that I should be eating around 2000 calories, because I'm breast feeding. When I was in college I lost a whole bunch of weight by eating 1200 calories a day. So I was trying to eat 1200 a day now, but I have barely lost my baby weight and my milk production has decreased (I've breastfed since he was born and it started decreasing when I went back to work). I was wondering if I should have been eating more calories this whole time.....anyone have any weight loss tips while breastfeeding?
Yea I have to pump. I'm a single parent that had to go back to work at 6 weeks. I pump every 2 and a half hours cause that's all I can get to cover my class. I literally need to lose 25 more pound to be prepregnancy.... @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, I am being a couch potato because in on vacation haha. @beebaby, I'm going to start meal prepping when I get back home.

I agree with @morganmommy79 it is kinda a catch 22. I stay hydrated and eat 6 times. High protein 3 meals and 3 snacks. My weight has slowed down but my supply decreased when I started pumping
Are you pumping while at work? That may be why you see a decrease. It's supply and demand basically. If you're not pumping or feeding every two hours you'll slow down.
I'm currently counting calories and I'm just following MyFitnessPal and adding a few extra calories for breastfeeding.
I needed to ask the same question tho because I am trying to lose weight as well and remain breastfeeding.
I think @beebaby would have some great input on this subject. Lol (thanks bee...)
I believe for breastfeeding it's an extra 200-500 calories each day.
I did meal replacement shakes for awhile and lost weight but gained it back. I'm still nursing and can't get the extra weight off. I would think staying active would help though. I'm a bit of a couch potato so it's hard for me to say get up and move when I don't take my own advice. Lol.
