So my cousin is a foster child in Oregon and he has informed my grandparents ( he sees them about twice a week or so) that his foster parents (his mothers sister) make him eat a good amount of hot sauce if he doesn't stay in bed. I've looked online for laws against that, but I can't seem to find any. My grandparents have already tried adopting him, but were rejected. If they went to his case worker or a judge or something they get told that a child has no voice in their case, so they're never going to do anything about his situation. He's only 4 and I'd hate for him to be there for 14 more years. Do any of you guys have suggestions for how to get him out of that situation? There's more to it, if you want me to elaborate as well.
This is just one of the many things that's wrong with them. Whenever he went over to my grandparents, he would always be in clothes that were too big and he wasn't potty trained until like 6 months ago. They also say really mean things about his dad to his face. I pretty much think they're just in it for the money.
@bemx94, I don't think they'd do anything. The foster parents will probably say it's not true.
@aboutellesbabes, I don't think they'd necessarily listen. They have 3 other foster kids in the house, so who knows what else is going on.
@miniwolfe, I believe they have, but the case worker won't do anything since he's only a child and could be making it up.
@aboutellesbabes, yeah and he's constantly sick due to the hot sauce and they wonder why he gets sick all the time.
