my friend due date was July 8 she got induced July 4 but she said she Was Dilating Slow but she still had her baby what that mean when she said she was dilating slow?

Losing the baby My sil is about 4 months along in her pregnancy and she starting bleeding really heavily so my dh took her to the hospital. He said she's dilating but hasn't texted back yet.
UPDATE: Well i wemt back to doctor still at 5cm was sent back home my doctor said i havent dilated anymore so she said thats a good thing and she said she wanna induce me but she didnt because im 36 weeks so im dealing with pain until i hit 40 weeks witch i really hate but she also said if baby comes shes not gonna stop it so im just playing the waiting game while having contractions and still scard ima go in labor at home!!!!
Doctor said she is checking me Monday for dialation. I will be 36 weeks. I didn't realize our body's dilated so early ?
I'm 3cm dilated 😱 my doctor said she can be here in a week or less wow i'm so excited!!!! The whole checking your cervix part not so much lol it hurts so bad!!!

Some women will dilate fast once their induced but others it takes more time. I know lady who was dilated to a 8 within 2 hours of being induced. When I got induced it took 11 hours for me to dilate to a 8. The slower it takes the longer you'll be in labor for once you've been induced.
