My 11 mo old has like an allergic reaction to baby food. Idk what else to do. Every time I give him baby food. He breaks out around his mouth and eyes and he gets the runs which makes him upset n fussy. I believe I spent too much money on similac but that's the only thing he can eat. I haven't got around to buy a blender to make my own baby food. Please any advice for me
@sawyersmom, sorry had to edit my reply. But he eats table food just fine I just thought baby food has more nutrients
That isn't good. You should definitely call his doctor and see about getting him a specialist
@sawyersmom, he does eat table food just fine. I just thought baby food gives him more nutrition.
By ten months my kiddo was eating table food and not baby food anymore. Maybe try small bites of table food and see if he has any reactions
Check with a food allergist 👍 processed foods are often heavy in chemicals, so he may be sensitive to that. You can cook veggies and mash them with a fork. You don't need a blender 😉 and at 11 months, he might start eating on his own. My son stopped baby food by then and he only had two teeth 👍 bananas are still a favorite over here!
@damien1117, I have but the program I'm in pays for that brand of baby food pacifically. I would have to go through multiple doctor visits to support the brand change of the baby food
@beebaby, I've tired every fruit and vegetable type of baby food. It never fails either he gets a reaction hours after eating or days after.
@damien1117, I haven't tried changing the brand because I receive W.I.C
But it doesn't matter the flavor. I notice his first break out when I gave him sweet potatoes. That was his very first taste of baby food. The next flavor I tried after that was pea and garden veggies, he would have the same reactions. I even tried fruit. Started off with bananas then apples. The reactions wasn't as fast but within two days he would show redness around his mouth and eyes. I thought it was because of his eczema because baby's are messy but what would explain the diarrhea and crankiness
As long as he is getting veggies and fruits daily he is good
