Hey mamas. I need some advice. When did everybody start implementing a routine bedtime? I have friends making me feel like I'm already too late. And some nights it works like a charm at 7:30. But the past week it's been a battle. He will be 5 months tomorrow. I feel it's young to have a solid in stone to the minute schedule. Tho I know kids thrive on routine. I just want to do what's best and it's been such trial and error I would love to hear from others
@dbarton041, no success lol he is fine with one arm out two arms out he wakes himself by rubbing his face. It's been one arm for weeks ha.
@mamabeartaryn, wow! I get goosebumps when I think about it. I just read about your page about stopping the swaddle. Were you successful? Jack will sleep at night with one arm out (only twice so far) but I just tried to put him down for his nap with one arm out and he absolutely hated it.
@dbarton041, aw thank you!!! So is yours. And I just read your birth story. Basically the same thing happened with us
@dbarton041, same! Sounds exactly what we do. Tho he's awake a bit longer now
@mamabeartaryn, the only time I nurse to sleep is at bedtime. He usually eats for 15-20 minutes and then I sing to him, walk around outside, or tummy time and then he starts yawning 10 -20 minutes later.
@dbarton041, oh wow. That's a good schedule. I was told to not nurse to bed but he definitely sleeps better when I do!
Oops left out the sleep part. He's usually ready for a nap 30-45 minutes after eating and the same is true for bedtime.
My son is on a feeding schedule of 6 am, 9 am, noon, 3 pm and around 6 pm. When he starts to refuse a pacifier is when I start the bath water and we start his bedtime routine of bath, book, nurse and bed. I'm back at work so consistency helps me keep up my supply but when it comes to sleep, he lets me know.
@boymama0908, so he kind of make his own schedule? Like fell into one on his own? My boy slept 10-7 up until he was 3 months and he started waking a ton. So I tried doing a routine and such and I think that ended up not working ha so I think maybe just playing off of his cues maybe will be smarter than dictating
@dbarton041, I've never swaddles for naps. Idk why. So he sleeps and naps without one. Just at bed is my issue
