How soon did you guys start using your breast pump after baby was born? He hasn't eaten much at all since birth. He latches okay but doesn't eat much at all. Few GOOD sucks (4-5) and he goes to sleep. Think I wanna go ahead and pump/bottle feed.

No as cubanese would say hes getting enough. Right now his stomach is the size of a cherry or marble. Pump after a month if not you'll start making oversupply and will forever face engorgement and leakage. I know cuz I been there twice. Its a pain in the tooshie.

just keep putting baby to breast on demand & your supply will be just fine. Newborns act as if they're constantly hungry but it's also a comfort thing

Pumping too soon after baby is born can cause an oversupply. It's normal for him to go to sleep while eating. They're pretty tired the first week. Just keep trying. Hang in there!

Excl pumping is not the business. If you can stick with bf you'll be happier. Did you get to visit with an LC?

Try keeping baby awake longer at the breast. Tickle feet, ears, nose, pinch cheeks.

Newborns are super lazy at first so its normal but they need to be forced until they get the hang of it.
