You know my Mom’s side of my childhood, now it’s time to share what it was like growing up with my Dad on the weekends. Like my Mom he was also disabled, he was legally blind, type one diabetic and had herniated discs in his neck and back which caused his pain and loss of motion. He would pick me up in a cab (his only mode of transportation since he couldn’t drive) after I came home from school. Fridays I would always get out of school at 12:30 so I would chill with Mom for a few hours and then Dad would pick me up after he got off of work. Some Fridays I did have riding lessons and on those days, Dad would pick me up from school and we’d go straight to the barn. Since Mom was a hermit Dad was my only support for events such as riding lessons, but for things such as school functions....
