My first pregnancy I did not have a midwife. After reading all these stories about people having them I'm curious, what does a midwife do exactly? How do you even find one? How expensive are they? Are they worth it??? I'm just curious, I didn't know it they are something to look into or not ! Thanks !

The doctor office I went to had a group of midwives. They are more into natural childbirth wth less medical intervention. They can do everything doctors can do and have a more personal feel. They just can't do c sections and most can't work with high risk mom's. I loved seeing the midwives

I never wanted a mid wife ever I always had bad experiences with them BUT I have met one that I love to death and I'm a very stubborn women so for me to pick a mid wife over a Dr is actually shocking but they are same as a Dr they can do everything a Dr can do, and I had just found this out. Lol.

Midwives are for medicationally unassisted births. At least that's how it is at my hospital. Once a pain med is in your system your care is transferred to a team of OBs

I love my midwife! She is amazing! I see a doctor as well tho. I will deliver by csection in a baby center, who uses both doctors and midwives. For my weekly appointments, I see my midwife unless there is a problem, then she just calls my Dr in. My midwife will be present before, during, and after my delivery.

I loved my midwife I used her for all three of my boys. She moved and I had to pick someone else. I prefer a midwife over a dr. I birthed my last baby with a dr. A midwife is just awesome they are more natural than a dr they will provide you with anything and everything to get through it all with out meds but if you want the medication they won't deny you.
