I really hate how retail associates treat you when you have wic checks! Just because I'm poor doesn't mean I don't…

I know girl. When i had to use wic i hated it. I tried to go either first thing in the morning or right before they closed. Smh i did learn not to be embarrassed tho because we all go thru hard times at one point or another. Stand their with pride! 🙌💪

They don't treat me bad here

I get treated good here too. Especially when i was getting checks for myself I'd go to raleys and sometimes they would call out an extra cashier and close the register i was at. Now i go to Walmart cause i don't get checks for me anymore and they always get me through fast and easy. You can complain i think to your wic office and to the store manager. @elysiansmama

Yah know what i think is funny.. Itd not just for the poor. I make allllllot of money and i still qualify for wic... People just asume only poor people are on wic.. ..

I don't have any issues using my coupons. Sorry the people are very nice to you.

Yeah cashiers or people in line behind you or the store manager saying a certain item can't be passed thru even tho in the book it is there .

That's why we stopped using them

B/c it's just annoying having to deal with that and then not even getting the items you needs . It's been like 2 or 3 years but I think we might have to start again since I'm not working.

@bugs039, yea it was something so simple too, I only used the formula checks and the minute I said wic he rolled his eyes and got rude the whole time 👎🏼even skating her formula cans on the counter each time

@christyluv, yea people just assume you're lesser than them because we have govt help but doesn't mean I don't deserve respect. Like they say, it says a lot about a person of how they treat their CEO and their janitor!

I don't think having wic makes you poor at all!

I am on WIC and when it was our first time using it and had to do like 4 orders I was embarrassed I was thinking of what people were thinking and how annoyed they are. But now I go in I know how to make the process fast and I am on WIC BC I am in graduate school and had to take a huge pay cut due to practicum and then took my full 12 weeks for maternity leave with almost no income to bring in, so I think if anyone says anything I'll just let them know they are wrong and judgemental. One time I got a new cashier and older lady who didn't know how to ring them up and I remained calm and helped her so in turn she was calm and learned how to do it, and today the lady we got was super nice. I didn't get all 9 cans at once bc she had to go get them out of a case and carry them over and she kept telling me it's hot you don't want to have to go out again I'll go grab the others it's fine. So I think it all just depends on how we approach it.

@bugs039, the hard part is the book has everything you may be able to get but u have to go by the check like I got confused on the milk. Tried to get 2% bc it was in the book but my checks only allow 1% or skim. Only pregnant woman having a hard time gaining healthy weight get approved for 2% or while milk

I get WIC too I haven't run into too many problems but remember always that u are the customer and you deserve great customer service and if they have a problem with that then make it known with their management use ur voice girl don't be ashamed they need u for their paycheck period. Watch how their tone changes

WIC has a mobile app so you can scan items and it will tell you if it's approved or not. But yes I do know what you mean, I don't really have that problem out in Vegas but it does suck feeling like you're being frowned upon
