I've just bought my sons Christening outfit & it's a lovely baby blue shirt with navy dress trousers and matching waist coat... do they have to wear white? Because the OH Mam is now saying he has to wear white.

Traditionally yes. They are supposed to wear white to symbolise their purity as they enter the family of god. I prefer when they wear white as its tradition but most people these days just go for an outfit they like. Is it a CoE christening?

@kayteamay, Yeah I think so. I'm not religious it's my partner thats organised it because him and his family have all been christened. Originally had he been Christened as a baby they were gonna try and put him in a family worn white dress so I put it off on purpose as I didn't want that. Hopefully it'll be fine xx
