Cramping and random sharp pains after my exam today 😓

If you are dilated to a 3 or 4 when you go in for cervidil they may just start pitocin or break your water. They only gave me cervidil because I wasn't dialated at all.

You being dilated is good. I wasn't so my Dr tried cervadil first to try and soften and open my cervix, which it didn't do for me lol. Had I known that I'd of skipped it and went straight for pitocin. They may not start it immediately after. Depends upon your progress. If you go into labor on your own after cervadil they may wait but if you stall out they'll probably give you pitocin.

@mrs.drs They will do pitocin after they take out the cervidal!

So if they do Cervidil theyll probably also do pitocin ?

@jacesterlingsmommy, Oh wow. I hope they induce me if the Cervidil doesnt get me anywhere, doc said babys estimate is already 8lbs 😱 but I measured 2cm & 50% today.

I had it! It worked. I was dilated to a 3 and then they started pitocin! 6 hours later i had my daughter!

I went in to be induced at 39 weeks 4 days and had him the next night. I wasn't dilated or effaced at all so Dr tried cervadil overnight in the hospital. They took it out 12 hours later and started pitocin. Cervadil did absolutely nothing for me. Within 2 hours of pitocin I was already in full blown labor and had him just 8 hours later. My doctor thought I'd have to have a c section because I didn't progress with cervadil and she wasn't sure how my body would react to pitocin but I took to it almost immediately. I only lost my mucus plug when the nurse checked for dilation after the cervadil came out. They broke my water about 4 hours or so after being on pit.

@jacesterlingsmommy, Did that do anything on its own or did you have to have something more? How far along were you? Im scheduled to take it tuesday, i will be 41weeks.

Yes I had it the night I was induced.
