Mommas I need some advice... My baby girl is 5 weeks old...I'm a stay at home mom and I'm always taking care of grace 24/7... Even when hubby comes home from work I don't bother him much with helping out with grace because I know he comes tired from working 12 hours.. On Saturday we stayed over with his mom because we were celebrating hubbys brothers birthday. Well anyways that night, grace just wanted to be held.. Every time she was put down she cried.. His mom says that I'm creating a bad habit by always having her in my arms. Then hubby began to agree even though he never had a problem with it before... So hubby doesn't want me carrying her as much any more and to let her cry for at least 5 minutes before picking her up.. I was doing some research online and I read mommies say that always going after a babies cry is not a bad thing and that she's too small to be letting her cry. And that she's not being spoiled because she's still too small to be spoiled... But my hubbys family and my family think I'm going to regret always holding her and picking her up when she cries... What do you mommas think? And have yall been in a similar situation?
I need help please.🙏
@val746416 Oh my gosh, yes!!! I rocked him to sleep every nap and every night until he was about 15 months 😶😥 It was exhausting but he would scream and cry and no matter how long I left him in there to "cry it out" he just wouldn't stop!! He eventually gave in and goes to bed so easy now! Your daughter might not take that long, mine was just stubborn 😂
@hallehaley did you ever have trouble pitting your son to bed at night after feedings and burping? Did he cry once you set him down? And haha that's true if the doctor says its okay then everyone telling me not to needs to back off😂
@brandichristine that is true... I don't want to look back one day and say I wish I would have held her longer when she was just a little baby
@arcsmomma that's very true.. I'm just gonna do what I think is best and I know along the way ill begin to understand her better.. I just need to be a little more patient lol.. I wish we lived in the same town! We are both the same age, are first time mommas, and have a baby the same age
Don't worry about holding her too much at 5 weeks old!! I held my son as much as I wanted when he was that young (which was a lot). When it was time for him to start walking, the DOCTOR told me to stop holding him so much so he could start walking since he was a bit behind and I think that is the only person who can tell you to do that 😂 Keep doing your thing, momma!
I agree! All babies are different but you can't spoil them with too much love. Eventually she will be too big to hold. Enjoy it now. You are creating a life long bond!
@val746416 I'm a first time mom but I've "raised" 4 out of 5 of my sister's kids and we held them all the time. They get to an age where they grow out of it a bit and you'll be able to tell when they start learning the difference between needing something and just crying cause they know you'll pick them up. But even at that point you can still pick her up all you want and tell them to fuck off lol nothing wrong with showing your daughter you love her.

Thank you ladies so much❤ i feel so much better now. Last night was such a hard night for me because i tried to listen to what they told me.. and grace cried off and on from 11:30pm-3:30 am she was only calm through her feedings. And i tried to limit my carrying.. And since being a first time mom i feel like i don't know what I'm doing and I'm scared to mess up.. But at the end of the day i have to try and do what i think is best for her and me.
I held my son constantly when he was younger, went to him immediately when he cried, etc. He's currently 3 & sleeps on his own, (almost) never wants to be held, not any more spoiled than a "typical" toddler. He's doing fine in life so far lol
You won't regret it. They all become independent in their own time. So cherish the cuddle time now. babies don't understand what being spoiled is until 6 months anyways
Babies can't be spoiled at 5 weeks old. A lot of older people think that we are spoiling them by picking them up, but at her age she probably wants comfort and crying for a reason. I would be so pissed if my husband agreed with that. She's only a baby. My daughter is 9 months now and sometimes I let her cry now because now she knows the difference and cries when I leave the room or if she doesn't get her way but that's because she's older now, if I know she's been changed, and fed. But even now at her age she gets tired and wants to be rocked to sleep. But no your not spoiling her at this age she's too small.
Screw what they say. Being that young, you're establishing trust with her, either her being hungry or tired or whatever, she cried for you and you responding lets her know you're there for her. In my opinion you can not spoil your baby by holding them too much. Go love your baby all you want and don't mind what you're mil thinks. We all raise our kids differently. You do what you want.
My baby girl does not let me do anything all day 😭 I'm lucky if everything is done before my s.o gets home , she cried so I pick her up to feed her and change her diaper and once she's on my breast she eats and I burp her put her down and she'll cry I get her again and she's on my breast not even latched on just smelling my boobs 😭 I'm like girl really lmao she wants me to carry her or be with her all day , girl I wish I could lmao

🙅RANT🙅😥
Posted this on baby bump today I was super excited to buy it because it's adorable!! I literally got responses saying... I wouldn't put that on her it may irate her little legs.. Or.. This is cute but wait till she's old enough to Sit up for pictures.. Or.. Ur not letting her wear that home are ya because that will be uncomfortable for her.. Or.. That looks to big for her.. (mind u this isn't my first baby it's my 7th!).. I actually had to delete it because of the rude comments! Smh 😥 I...

my kids ♡ BTW she's crying because she hates being put down, and baby brother was crying with her too 🐶💕👧

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️
I had my first bad mom day. I've seen alot of posts that said crying it out is never good but idk what was wrong with her today and no matter what I did she just wouldnt stop crying. I had to lock my self in the bathroom. She fell asleep crying and now I'm crying because I feel so horrible for doing that. I can't wait until she wakes to kiss her and tell her I'm so sorry.
@val746416 Just do what you feel is best for you and your baby girl. You got this 👍 and if you have any questions or just want to talk to someone I'm here :)
Would have been cool to live in the same town
