How did y'all get over the fear of feeding yalls babies like actual food?! If it was up to me Adrienne would eat baby food for the rest of her life but she's 7 months and showing more interest in our foods so I would love to give her some to try, chopped up obviously but I'm so paranoid she's going to choke 🙄🙄
@noahs.mommy, no I guess not. Just whatever you moms are comfortable with
@adriennes.mommy @eviedoll my son is 6 months old and he knows how to chew food. Like i said he ate french toast the other day. I just need to watch him carefully and be prepared to help. I don't think 7 months old is too young at all especially if they are showing interest and can chew their baby snacks 🤗
@eviedoll, so here's the thing, I've been feeding her baby food since she was about 4 or 5 months and I make it thicker and thicker and she eats her little snack puffs and has the concept of chewing food down pretty good, that's the only reason why I really asked lol. I've done the first foods with her with the bananas and stuff still kinda do it but mix it up sometimes like give her tortillas or pizza crust to chew on (she bites off little pieces it seems like) and she seems fine but if I'm paying attention to her like super closely then that's when I get paranoid
@adriennes.mommy, omg no wait a second I’m sorry 7 months is too young for that 🙈 sry my son is 3 1/2 so it’s been a while. Instead of bite size pieces purée the banana, avacado, apples, carrots etc.. oh! & try sweet potato! Such a great first food
@noahs.mommy, I do when he isn't home 😂😂 when he isn't home and I don't want to make her baby food I try to give her some of my breakfast if it's like waffles and stuff. I need to invest in a high hair.
@shelby.espinosa91, she's been on solids since around 4 months and I make the consistency a little chunkier every time
@adriennes.mommy oh just give it to her 😂 its not gonna hurt her and its not like you'll give her a lot either. It just to give it a little flavor but mostly to make it softer.
My bubbas is going to be 8 months soon but I started giving him stage 3 food last month right around 7 months. He choked a little bit but I stuck my finger in his throat to help and then have him a little juice or water right after and he was fine. Trust me I understand it's scary. At 4 months he was reaching for mine or my family's food and so I felt it was time to start.
Awe she won’t! Just start with soft small bites of things like Avacado, scrambled eggs, banana, pastas.. :]
@noahs.mommy, really! Awwww!y husband is word about that stuff, he thinks it's too many preservatives I told him it's just a waffle but frozen... no preservatives 😂
@raisinghazel, lol I'm going to have to figure something out! She's too much for me. Like i give her pizza crust and stuff she if I take it away she throws a fit.
@adriennes.mommy my son LOVES french toast. Try that! With a little syrup on it cause it makes it softer
@raisinghazel, 😂😂 grown woman! I say the same thing about Adrienne! She grown now!
@noahs.mommy, ok I'll try it during the day when her dad isn't home! I used to give her waffles and she would LOVE them
@raisinghazel, girl I can't enjoy my food either without her crawling all over me trying to get to it
@adriennes.mommy the more table food you give her, the less she'll gag on it. Its just a new texture so it'll take a couple tries for her to get used to it. My son did the same thing now he doesn't gag nearly as much or at all.
@adriennes.mommy if she's acting ready then she's ready lol as long as the pieces arent big then she'll do fine.. my daughter eats EVERYTHING I eat, I cant enjoy food alone anymore so be careful 😂😂
@raisinghazel, thank you! That's reassuring. I don't think she wants to wait until 9 months to try lol! I make her cereals more and more chunky with baby food mixed in every time i feed her.
I know! I know it's harder for her to choke, I know she'll gag first because of where her gag reflex is but shoot she even gags on her puffs from time to time and those are easily dissolvable lol. I guess I'm just paranoid. I know by thanksgiving she'll be ready for thanksgiving dinner but seems like she's ready for regular food now @deckroth2001,
I would try the chunky baby food 1st like stage 3 and and stage 3 (9+)see how baby handles it... if she does well just her tiny pieces of what your eating.. gagreflex is amazing so i wouldn't worry about choking
There is a difference between gagging and choking. Its just a learning process.
@lifewithlynniejade88, omg we let her get a taste and she goes crazy! I swear she tries to stick the whole thing in her mouth like bread or a tortilla or something and that's what freaks me out. Like I know she has to learn but she's going about it the wrong way lol!
@deckroth2001, I may try that. She chews on stuff like a tortilla or piece of bread but I'm soooo afraid she's going to bite off a chunk way to big. We aren't doing to well with avocados and veggies, still working on it lol. I may steam carrot sticks or something and give them to her
Lol Im the same way. Breastfeeding her still but slowly introducing baby food since 7-8 months. My hubby gives her bites of his food sometimes & it freaks me out!
I was definitely not comfortable at all until i realized he can chew
