My dr says every baby has an umbilical hernia and most heal on their own some do not. My daughters belly button protruded like that and then went in eventually. It's normal to bleed and look raw. Do u have a more clear picture by chance? If you feel it's something to be checked, go.

Hospital. But don't let people scare u about hernias and whatnot. My daughter had an umbilical hernia for the first couple of months and our doctor said that it was fine. He said that her belly button might just turn into an outie if she ever gets pregnant. I would only go because you accidentally ripped it so all of the tissue may not be dead. I would take the baby just to be sure

I'd call his pedi. You can ask to email a pic to them

@babycakes20, you could always call his Pedatrician who may tell you to leave it be. My daughter ended up kicking hers off her Pedatrician put some medicine in it so it could heal and not get infected
