**Need Advice/Insight**
So my boyfriend and I live together, and he makes decent money but we're still struggling. We've been talking about me applying for WIC, but I don't really know how this works. Since we live together, will they count his income?
I can't lie and say that I'm alone even though legally I am a "single mother" because I don't want any trouble, but I also don't want to get denied, we really do need the help.
Does anyone know how the state of New Jersey's WIC program works and what I should do?
I had WIC with my first baby. They asked who lived in the house & I didn't lie but when they asked for my fiancé's income I said "it doesn't matter what he makes, we're not married" & I received WIC with that answer 💁
@skysmommy04, ugh I hope it's that way here. Since we live together it's considered "one household" so that's the income for the household. 🙄
Wic ask for proof of income and your ID literally and if you have no income boom.. no need to mention spouse etc they don't ask if you own a home well here they don't
I received wic and since we lived together and he was the only one with income they needed it included. I mean I couldn't say I live alone but don't work and have no income. How am I survive then? I can't say I get government assistance if I'm not they want proof. So most likely if he's the only one with income then yes they'll need it. If your making any income then just give them yours.
@cubanese, won't they ask how I pay for it? They won't believe that me with no income is a homeowner all on my own 😂
@cubanese, but I always thought that since legally I'm a single mother that it didn't matter
@alysonxo yup lol the lady gave me a dirty look but I received WIC checks before I left the office that day
