So my husband and I are considering circumcision but I'm not completely sold on it and could use some help with the positives and negatives as well as some opinions on it. Please no rude comments.
Feel free to message me! I'm a huge advocate for keeping babies intact and have a lot of great, nonjudgemental information :)
I would never do that to my babies. Both of my boys are intact with no problems whatsoever! There is no reason to do it and it causes so many problems and it's so painful for those poor babies. I would strongly encourage you to consider the human rights aspect, that it's cosmetic and painful and alters their body permanently. The foreskin has so many functions and is so important! Check out yourwholebaby.org There's a ton of info there mama! Once you see what it's all about, I doubt you'll want to do it!
My only son is circumcised. He was circumcised during his hypospadis surgery. However,At the end of the day it's up to you and dad no one else can make this decision for you. Do your research and go from there. Good luck and congratulations to you both on baby boy. ❤
Both of my boys are not circumcised and I've had zero problems they're 6 and 2.5 my 3rd boy won't be either. It's a tough decision.
My first son is circumcised. My second is not. My first son has had yeast, UTIs , pain, anything that circumcision supposedly prevents, he's had it. My intact son has had no issues whatsoever! It's definitely not necessary and a lot of people are opting out. Message me and I can go more in detail. Also, there's a entire group on this app of moms who didn't circumcise their sons who can weigh in. Good luck. (:
I have an intact (not circumcised) son and have done a LOT of research and know a LOT of the statistics. If you're really interested you can shoot me a message and I can tell you about my experience and why I chose to leave my son intact and how I care for his penis on a day to day basis. If not, I also understand. And the infection theories have been largely debunked. So anyway, that's all I got.
It's definitely something you want to research yourself because of all the information & pros & cons either way. The things @avahcruz listed is basically why we also decided to get our boys circumcised as well.
I chose circumcision because it lowers the risk of penile cancer, and ovarian cancer in women, lowers the risk of infection, lowers risk of STD, there are cases where some children need circumcision later on in life as a result of an infection or other and the procedure time is a lot longer along with the healing process compared to a newborn. It can be traumatic for a child compared to a newborn who won't remember it. I'm clearly pro circumcision but ultimately the decision is yours, do whatever you feel is best, momma.
@missmollylynn, I've got a group chat going for moms with intact boys if you're interested.
