There's a reason I talk to my SD's mom as much as I do, there's a reason I let her think I like her. I might be called 2 faced or backstabbing for it but I have a good reason. My SD has alot of problems, some are mental, some are emotional. Some of the problems she was born with, but most of them come from bad parenting. And because this woman thinks we're friends she tells me things. Like how she aloud her brother to abuse both her kids for 2yrs just so she could have a place to stay (both of the kids dad's would have found her a place to stay if they knew what was going on). She has told me that my SD has been getting her ass beat daily since she was 2 (helpful hint to get my 2yr old to sleep, beat her till she passes out). And yesterday when I went to pick her up she told me about an incident that happened over the weekend. She claims her and her husband was play fighting and my SD freaked out, crying, shaking, screaming don't hurt my mommy. She laughed it off saying she has know idea why she was acting like that. So on the way home I asked her about it. This little girl told me about how her mom and dad fight in their room, how they hit eachother, how her mom cries after and she comforts her mom. How her mom has bruises alot. And then both them tell my SD that what she saw wasn't true, that she's wrong they weren't hitting eachother. This explains alot about my SD. She doesn't understand how to tell the truth, she thinks the best way to solve a problem is violence, and she's afraid to talk. She is going to a specialist tomorrow to find out what's going on with her and now we have alot to go on. Sorry for the long post, I don't have many people to talk to.
She's lucky to have you in her life... sounds like you are doing the right thing... play nice with the mom, that child deserves a better life than what she's been given!
@krenee1120 we're having a hard time getting her to open up, her mom can always say we're lying but if she tells us or her therapist we can us it.
@krenee1120 that's why we're getting everything documented. We can't legally keep her from her mom yet. We don't have legal custody either. Her mom just gave her to us to "fix" and give back.
I wouldn't even let her over her mothers house. I wouldn't call it two faced , your doing what you need to do to possibly save that little girl. That's a shame the mess she has been through.
@mommiesaremagical14 no she always wants to go. She gets told what she sees happening isn't really happening, or that she's lying. She gets told that the reason she gets her ass beat is because she's bad and she deserves it. And she believes it.
@tiredmom Ok, does your SD ever say she doesn't want to go to her mom's? I think she's old enough to make that choice. My sister had sole custody of her boys and if they didn't want to go visit him she didn't force them. I know it's different because she had sole custody but even without and court orders I don't think she has to go if she doesn't want to.
@mommiesaremagical14 we don't have court ordered custody. She just gave her to us.
@mommiesaremagical14 we have custody of her now. Her mom gets here on the weekends. Since she's been with us her behaviour has improved alot. When she goes to the therapist we will have everything documented by her. She works with CPS alot with cases like this.
Good morning dear. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. That poor girl needs you so much aka stability and love. I really hope she finds the help she needs. Is there anything you can do to get her to stay with you guys more often and less time away from her mother?
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
What would you do? - baby shower
SO my mom has been very negative about the baby my entire pregnancy. Especially in the beginning, she said the most HORRIBLE things about me, my DH and my unborn baby. Like that I was making a big mistake, that I was making her 2015 the worst year ever... etc etc. Even when she would do nice things she made me feel like I was a HUGE inconvenience and a burden to her. She told me to definitely NOT expect a shower or anything like that from her. Fine, whatever...
@tiredmom, ohh okay hopefully y'all can get legal soon . But yea had to get my nephew and niece from their mom before I know all the hoops you have to jump through.
