It's been a pretty hard year, to be honest. We've had a really bumpy road! The enzyme that digests lactose was not developed in her yet, so she was allergic to breastmilk AND dairy formula until she was about 5mos. She also had reflux, and had to sleep elevated at all times so she wouldn't choke in her sleep. On top of that, colic. The first few months were just constant tears from all of us.
And then, I struggled pretty heavily with PPD. I was too scared to reach out for help, and ended up trying to take my own life. I missed her 3month milestone AND my dad's birthday because I was in a coma. Daughter of the year right here! 🙄
Add in all the financial struggles, drama (I'm an expert on putting my foot in my mouth), and basically being kicked out of our home...its been a long year.
I'm finally beginning to feel more like myself. I'm still struggling through my depression and anxiety, but I'm working hard on it. We've both found jobs, and we're finally able to look for a nice place to live. I've made amends with all the people I pissed off with my big mouth (even though now my SIL is actively trying to ruin my life lmao). I've started back on my self-care routine.
I don't know where I'm going with this, I'm really just procrastinating before getting ready for work. 😂 But yeah, it's been a hell of a year. But we've taken huge strides forward, all of us, and we've overcome multiple obstacles as a team, David and Isabelle and I. We're a family. And it just feels good to know that I have them to lean on and come home to, because that's all I really ever wanted.
