About to give my baby his first bath.. let me rephrase.. his first at home bath.... last two baths were in the hospital and the nurses wouldn't let me participate.. Im extremely nervous... any calming words of advice ???

@sherrynygirl, cause I have bad judgement with water temp
Babies have very delicate skin Never Use hot water and think itll cool eventually..not safe okay
What are u using baby bath tub? Rem u can't get umbilical cord wet..best thing u could do is use kitchen sink so u don't have to bend over..and keep him in a diaper and towel and use a baby rag towel like hand towel soft and wet it and add baby wash to it
So it's not cooling down by the time he's halfway done@sherrynygirl,
Take a deep breath and be calm..they feel your nervousness...feel the water is warm..1st..don't full undress baby if its a newborn..keep towel by your side too..start on the chest with a warm baby towel wet w baby body wash and do each thigh to foot.do their private part.go around umbilical cord with light water only...wash the face becareful near the eyes..you can back of ears also...not inside..and you don't have to wash the hair everyday..towel dry good..newborns even in hot weather need to stay warm.u can put on a baby hat.socks and onesie or a 1 piece foot pjama w a blanket..you'll do just fine
@exoticyuri what karensmommy said about a soapy rag and then just a wet rag
@exoticyuri what i did was id have a bowl of water and id wet my baby then put the soap on a rag then id just wash her off with a nonsoapy wet rag
@jlbentley231, i feed him after. I want him to anticipate this and be calm next time.
@karensmommy, how to I use his soap?? If it's a sponge bath? I'm pissed the nurses barely let me witness it Im so lost
He will be fine, do those sponge baths until his umbilical cord is off and keep him warm. I would feed him before bathtime that way he is chill.
@exoticyuri my dr told us to only give sponge baths till it came off. 😬😬😬 but as long as the belly doesnt get soaked it should be fine
Just be careful around the umbilical cord (donot emerge in water till the cord has fallen off
