@missjess, I hope u and your son the best. I know how difficult it can be. Once your son gets into the toddler stage maybe he'll beg u to take him back. It'll be harder for him to control other people with a toddler running around
Omg I say it all the time that he is seriously impossible! I try to be the bigger person I try to communicate I try to be nice everything and he is just horrible!! Idk how I'm suppose to deal with this shit till my son is like 21! God I hope my son decides at a early age he doesn't want to go with him and I'll go right to court with that @morganmommy79,
@missjess, I think he'll get sick of "getting" you once a new victim comes along. It all gets old to them quickly. Esp when someone isn't lifting them up and praising them.
@missjess, they're really nearly impossible to deal with. Your son will pick up (recognize) on his behavior soon enough and it will affect him. He may not want much to do with dad once he realizes he's a butt. Even the little ones can tell who loves them
And I was going to do that not mention his times he has visitations with him and hopefully he will just fade away. I kind of have a feeling he might anyway but I also think he might stick to it just to get to me 😒@morganmommy79,
It is all about control. And I try to limit my conversations with him. I barely talk to him. But he texts me everyday the same thing. Idk if I can just stop texting back because he has phone privileges with my son and since he's only a baby I always give one word responses. Except today trying to communicate with him about my son going with him Saturday and he was a giant douche. But I didn't really give him much and I think he was expecting a rise out of me and I haven't in months! He holds no power over me and he should realize that by now but I think he thinks he still does. 🙄@morganmommy79,
@missjess, what would happen if you stopped texting/calling him period? Only when your child is with him? Maybe don't mention him picking him up and he'll fade out? He'll get sick of "babysitting" him if he sees it holds no power over you eventually. They must always go onto their next victim when the first one stops reacting. Because it is about control.
Ugh I wish I could! I highly doubt he would because he thinks he has some type of control over me this way. It's all about power and control 🙄@morganmommy79,
@missjess, yes you're right. And even with counseling if it's not something they want it won't help. The problem is that a narcissist thinks they have no problems so they don't seek help. An issue with my husband as well. The BEST way to deal with a narcissist is to avoid them 100% all the way but when you have kids together you can't. Would he sign rights over?
My ex is super controlling too tries to make sure he has all the power but guess what?! I'm the boss! I run this show. Not him and I think he's slowly realizing that. But still tries. He's a huge asshole. I know for a fact my ex will never change as much as I hoped he would. Now I wish he'd just vanish from earth. He is loving in a weird way toward his girls but that's it! @morganmommy79, I don't think they are capable of really changing without like extensive counseling and psychological care and even then i doubt it.
@missjess, a lot like my husband. He keeps me confused tho because he shows love for his daughter and most of the time for me in his own weird way. But for years he's been selfish, self righteous, judgmental, charming at first to win me over, controlling, he blames everyone and can't take responsibility for anything. However, he's showing change lately. I simply told him it stops or he loses everything like his dad did. I didn't think it would work but he's changing but I don't know if it'll stick.
He thinks he's gods gift to man. He always turns everything on me and can't ever take the blame for a single thing. He's super self righteous. He's mentally abusive. He's closed off to his son and he closed himself off to me shortly after we started dating. He doesn't care about my feelings or anything I have to say when it comes to my son. He just does whatever he wants anyway. @morganmommy79,
@missjess, I thought for a long time that my husband was one. His dad and brother both show characteristics of one. My husband does show sides of love and warmth so it's been hard figuring him out. What kind of stuff does your ex do?
Thank you I hope so! He has other children who aren't here that much. And I know he feels like my son takes away from them so hopefully he will back off eventually but as of now no.@morganmommy79,
