Has anyone every had success on pumping your breast milk and giving it to your newborn in a bottle ? Can anyone share their experiences with me on doing that instead of breast-feeding please.

Omg that's horrible. Sorry you had to experience that girl ! Any situation a person is uncomfortable with can be traumatic or discouraging. Thank you I'll be sure to pump that often ! @alimtz0510

My mother in law ruined breastfeeding for me.. And it makes me really sad thinking about it now. The day we had our baby, she wanted to come in like 5 minutes after having my baby and I told my husband to tell her no because it was my first time breastfeeding and I didn't feel comfortable with her in there. She came in later and I even had a blanket over myself and she literally moved the blanket to see her. I was SO upset. Your mother in law should never know what your boobs look like. And she should have asked first. Since then I've felt so different and violated. That I no longer wanted to feel that way again and I decided to just pump and give it to her in the bottle. You just have to pump every 3-4 hours max or your milk ducts will plug up.

I pumped and bottle fed my son-it was the best bc other people could feed him and I could rest. Him and I have an amazing bond even though he didn't drink straight from the tap 😉

@minnie_, I pumped and bottle fed my first. BF didn't work and wasn't for me! My kiddo is perfect and super connected to me. I say do whatever your comfortable with.

That's how I did it for all 3 of mine. My nipples are short and my kids don't latch so I pump or hand express into a bottle for them for the first few months. Its hard on your boobs tho

Breastfeeding is the best connection to your baby. It will come naturally to you once baby is here

So I started that exclusively when he was about 4 weeks and I deeply regret. My supply dropped huge and you still need to pump every two to three hours to keep the supply you have...in trying 6 weeks of just breastfeeding then switching to both

I try not to think about it too much, cuz otherwise it gets harder, but it works both ways but I think since he was born they took him to the nicu for almost 2 weeks n they bottle fed him my breast milk so he got used to the bottle so it gets challengy when it comes to my boobs he doesn't latch on that well, so it gets hard. But when he does it's ok, I guess in my situation I'll rather give it to him in a bottle cuz I'm not sure what exactly he's getting from me when I breastfed him , I know they say if they have wet diapers n they are gaining weight it's all good he's getting what they need but for my comfort if I give it to him I know what he's getting so it's better for me to be on a schedule , I breastfeed him at night when I'm super tired to get up n warm up his milk or to pump, but during the day I just keep pumping ...

Oh no no I'm so sorry you went through that, can you like distract yourself from it or is it an all the time wierd feeling ? Also , is doing both been good for you or what would you rather Do? Has it helped to keep her on a schedule ? Yes I will definitely take that into mind to pump and freeze ! @viiviian.aiide

I feel you girl, that's exactly what I'm doing now, pumping and giving it to my baby in a bottle, it's hard sometimes to do it all the time tho, so I definitely fall into breastfeeding cuz it takes a little time before you warm up the milk, but that's what I'm doing pump n put it in a bottle. And yes like the girl ☝️️said once you start producing stack up, all you can, I did a couple n I regret not doing a lot so I'm running out already on the freezer n I'm not producing a lot like before. But I do feel weird sometimes my baby sucking on my nipples, there's this weird feeling :( I guess cuz I was molested n they definitely touched my boobs n I'm like traumatized. So it's tough.

I personally wouldn't have a problem if anyone saw my breasts I'm ok with them, it's just I feel like I'm sexualizing them since my husband has been the only one to physically do anything to them you know? I've never used them for what their actually made for, feeding babies. @nessa614

@minnie_ what about it makes you feel awkward? Like @ezyboosmama said it's okay if you're not comfortable. Before I had my baby I felt weird about it too but because I didn't want any one to see the way my nipples looked or my breast. I got over it though & I love breast feeding now ☺

Of course. I've been to a lactation consultant as well because my son was born small and I wanted to make sure he was doing good growth wise. If you have anymore questions feel free to message me! I know sometimes it's hard to ask more personal things in here not in a private message.

Pumping is a good way to know exactly how much they are eating but I will say it was tough for me at first with breastfeeding because I couldn't see the milk my son was getting. It's so hard to trust your body is producing enough but he was gaining weight so all was well. If you plan on bottles feeding breast milk ask the hospital right away or let them know you want to pump and feed that way. Look up lactation consultants in your area they are amazing when it comes to milk production questions.
Remember if your not comfortable with breastfeeding it's ok if you don't, pumping and feeding in a bottle is more than wonderful😊.

Yes, that's true ! My other question is , is it normal for me to feel a little awkward about breastfeeding or will I just get over it ?

He was 2 and a half months old when he came home amd by that time my mill had dried up even after I took some vitamins for my milk supply. So basically it is a difference of how much milk you can feed them through breastfeeding and pumping? Also

My recommendation is to stock up with your milk so you can just defrost it instead of pumping when baby is hungry. That can get crazy with hungry crying.

Did you stop pumping when your 3 year old came home? I exclusively breast feed now because I can't get much milk out pumping now but early on when my body was producing a lot of milk and I could pump out 5oz each in 5 mins it was awesome. I use the Comotomo bottles and my LO loved them because they have a real fee to them. They aren't hard like other bottles but if your new LO never knows breastfeeding he/she will do fine with any bottles. If you start out with bottles he/she won't know the difference. What questions do you have about giving breast milk in a bottle?

No, I'm a sahm. I have pumped when I had my now 3 year old but had to because he was in nicu, so I don't have experience with breastfeeding. I guess my problem is I'm sexualizing my breast (i support and love everyone else that breastfeeds, it's just me) and might feel a little awkward or uncomfortable. @ezyboosmama

Are you needing to go back to work so you want to pump? It's a bit harder but you can def so it with pumping you just have to do it every 2 hours to Help your milk production ramp up.
