My little science experiment.
We were worried Olivia may have some hearing loss. She failed her hearing test 3 times while in the NICU.
Turns out there's some loss, due to fluid in her ears. Good news though, she can hear, we just need to figure out the best way to treat the fluid in her ears.
We'll have to follow up with either her pediatrician or her ENT from her CHOC team. (Yes, this little kiddo has a whole team of doctors that will follow her progress and do her cleft palate surgery.)
That's one thing we may have to do. We'll be making an appointment with her ENT that was recommend. He's part of the whole team of doctors at the children's hospital where she'll have her palate surgery done.
This is basically all the same stuff my husband has had to go through because of his Sticklers Syndrome. The cleft palate is a secondary thing that happens with the syndrome and with a cleft palate comes a lot of ear, nose and throat issues.
