For those worried about me taking zofran...I highly doubt that something this is going to harm my daughter (and it hasn't) she's growing normally when she lets me eat and drink. When I don't take it I get severely dehydrated and I can't eat. I've gone to the ER and urgent care for this many times over the past 6mths.
@mrsgraffiti
I wasn't trying to "present" any facts about anything so... Why was I lumped in?
@mrsgraffiti we plan to vaccinate our daughter when she's supposed to but to me it doesn't matter that "vaccines cause autism" cause she's already exposed to autism in the first place. The dad to be probably could of been diagnosed with aspurgers, his mom might have it, but his youngest brother has been diagnosed with aspurgers.
@mrsgraffiti, no I get it I saw those comments too and felt same way I just don't want to be lumped with mom shaming because I'm highly against it what's right for one isn't right for another who am I tell someone what they should do
@armywife72515, oh, about the vaccines and autism... I was just using that as an example about how ludicrous it is to trust everything you read as "research" considering they have already proven that the "study" of vaccinations and autism was altered to show the results they wanted it to show lol. I am all about vaccinations! The only thing I have an issue with is essential oils but that's a whole other story 😆
@mommysbabies, totally understand. It just seemed like she was getting hit from multiple directions and I got frustrated. I initially went in to comment bc I declined Zofran when it was recommended to me and I ended up in a world of hurt. So when I saw a bunch of people "presenting facts" and basically being like "no. That's bad for you." It frustrated me. Just seemed like everyone thought they were an expert and this poor girl is just trying to stay out of the ED. Sorry if I popped off too fast and furious - I just felt like someone needed to be on her side. I get over-protective of scared moms sometimes bc I went through some really scary stuff and was shamed a lot for choices I made.
@mrsgraffiti, I think you miss read what I wrote I was not attacking her for taking it I was just on it like two weeks ago I wish I could still be on it I was trying to help defend her because I had the same views that it was dangerous until I talked with my dr and she showed me the research on it and the fact that all babies organs they say are affected were already developed and she is also far enough along that everyone's point about it being dangerous were irrelevant at this point in time I'm going based off medical research my comment about not being on it was not shaming her nor would I shame another for formula feeding or anything else I was saying I wish I could take it but because my liver condition I can't and then before anyone could tell her my liver condition was because of zofran I put that it was completely unrelated to the zofran you have to do what you have to do I agree but don't think I was attacking her simply trying to shed some light on the research that the drs have because it's safe to take in second trimester i suffer from hyperemisis both pregnancies I know what she is going through I know how many people came after me for taking zofran I was trying to help support her not put her down
@armywife72515, Yea I had an awful time with morning sickness too. I was losing so much weight and nothing helped - my doctor suggested Zofran and I refused bc everyone told me how bad it was. I wish I HAD taken it. I lost a ton of weight and my son wasn't gaining weight fast enough. You gotta do what you gotta do. I am a huge advocate of doing what is right for YOU. So, that being said, YOU GO GIRL!! Pregnancy is hard - do what you can to make it work!! :)
You got to do what you got to do to keep yourself from going to the ER. If YOUR doctor says it's ok then you don't need to listen to someone else's doctor. If your doing good and your baby is doing good with it, then don't worry about it.
Believe me do I wish I could go without it ABSOLUTELY! Do I wish I could live life without having to worry if I took my meds so I can function as a somewhat normal person and actually eat and drink ABSOLUTELY but obviously that's not the case.
I was given zofran pills at 8wks and yes my own family has made it known that they don't approve of it but since I stayed with my parents when I was throwing up almost everyday while my hubby was gone for military stuff, they've seen me sleep in the bathroom so I wouldn't disturb everyone with me going to the bathroom in all hours of the night. My mom in law tried making soup, had me sucking on peppermint candy, sleeping on their couch with a bucket near me, and those didn't work. My own grandmother who's a nurse has disapproved of it but she lives in NC.
I've tried ginger chews and tea didn't help much, peppermint candy although tasty didn't help, chicken broth ew that doesn't taste good coming back up, jello was too sugary, soup helped a bit but most of the broth was boiled out. Believe me my mom and my mom in law tried doing everything that you can do to settle your stomach before going to doctors and hospitals
@emileewells1153
She edited her original post. She even commented saying she edited her original post. Read to understand. She said "I highly doubt something this small is going to harm my daughter" all she did was remove the word small.
Nobody blames you for taking it. None of us want to see your baby get harmed is all. Trust me. I have taken it too at 28 weeks. A healthy mom and a baby is really all that matters. I just wanted to make sure you were educated and that you didn't feel like you needed to defend yourself. Because I have seen you post defending yourself three times about this.
Guys. Are you doctors? "I just want everyone to know the risks they are taking." LET THEIR DOCTORS TELL THEM. Im sorry but this happens ALL THE TIME on this app and it's unbelievable! "She is shoving down my throats that she thinks Zofran is OK." SHE THINKS ITS OK. She's not saying "YOU SHOULD TAKE IT." She's saying "I think it's ok to take for me so stop telling me it's not ok."
@mrsgraffiti my story is that I've been having severe morning sickness since 6wks and I originally tried more natural remedies. I eventually had to go to ER and urgent care for this since it got so bad I was throwing up stomach acid. I've been taking zofran since Feb and probably going to keep taking it since when I don't I live in my bathroom or go to the hospital.
@babyboy1117, did she say it's small it won't harm me!! No? She took a pic and stated her opinion.
@emileewells1153
Did you even read my comments to her? I don't give a fuck for or against zofran. I was just pointing out that something small can still be harmful. Jesus fucking Christ. Maybe try reading to understand than just to respond?!
@babyboy1117, if her midwife said it was ok then why are you still being an asshole, where is your fucking MD? Christ almighty.
@mrsgraffiti we have aspurgers in the family so I'm not worried about the vaccines supposedly causing autism when she's already exposed to autism in the first place.
@emileewells1153
ZOFRAN IS OKAY FOR SOME WOMEN TO TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. NOT ALL.
CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING A SHEEP.
ZOFRAN IS OKAY TO TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. STOP BEING ASSHOLES
@mrsgraffiti seriously no negativity or mom shaming here. Hell I had to take zofran when I was pregnant. I just think everyone should be educated instead of saying well such and suchs baby is fine so mine will be too
@mrsgraffiti
Literally all I did was point out a DANGEROUSLY flawed logic....? I wasn't preaching anything....
If you read my comment you would see where I said that as long as she knows the risks the only person it matters to is herself. I am not preaching anything. But she is shoving down my throat that she thinks zofran is okay to take so what is the difference? This is the third post she has made about it. I never once said it wasmt okay to take. I just want everyone to know the risks they are taking before they do something. @mrsgrafitti
@mommysbabies, @sawyersmom, @babyboy1117, WHOA. Stop wth the preaching. No one is cramming their opinions down your throat. Do you talk like that to the thousands of mothers against formula feeding? Or real food before 6 months? Or c-sections? All of which "research shows" are bad. I think drinking wine while pregnant and smoking pot while pregnant are abhorrent. But people do it all the time because it's their choice and their doc says it's ok. "Immunizations cause autism." Heard that one? Welcome to 2017 where everything is bad for you. You don't know her whole story. She's not giving him illegal drugs, she's not snorting coke or doing heroin. She's doing something her doctor said was OK. If you don't like it, then don't do it yourself. But she may need it to stay healthy for her baby. Until you have a Med degree, don't clown someone for the medical advice they were given. This is not the place for that. Take that negativity to Facebook.
@armywife72515
I'm not saying you do drugs. I'm just pointing out the flaw in your logic that "it's tiny" so it must not be able to harm your baby. Tiny things can still be powerful.
@babyboy1117 I don't do hard drugs just the zofran pills for keeping me a somewhat normal person and actually eat and drink. Without it I can't function and I'm in the ER for dehydration.
What you have been told by one person. Not the many people that have done research or have children with issues because of it.
Yeah and from what I was told it's full of bologna and it's not doing anything to her.
I was on it but only after everything else was exhausted it was only thing that worked for me and the dr didn't give it to me till the risk was no longer a factor by now the organs that are affected by zofran are fully developed unfortunately I can no longer take it because I'm having liver issues myself and zofran can affect your liver (my liver issue is because of pregnancy not zofran) zofran is only dangerous in first trimester
I am not saying you shouldn't take it. That is your choice as long as you know the risks then it doesn't matter to anyone but you. I am just saying stop trying to convince people by saying that your child is fine so it must be fine. They wouldn't say that it is harmful to fetuses if it was a lie. There was research done and not everyone's child turned out okay. But you also don't need to convince everyone of your decisions
@sawyersmom she's doing just fine and my midwife says it's fine to keep taking it
Just because it is small doesn't mean it isn't harmful. And you're lucky your child wasn't harmed. Not everyone was as lucky.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
When can I take a pregnancy test
so my mom was telling me I should give my son baby cereal at night because at night is when he wants to eat the most. I haven't done it yet but who thinks its okay I was thinking doing it when he's two months!??
So I eat a cup of ice cream everyday I can't help it I feel so happy it's the highlight of my day I had Gastational diabetes when pregnant but I don't eat anything else sweet except ice creme 18% sugar my boyfriend is mad I'm eating ice cream to the point where he is slapping doors and says if I get sick he will just take his kids and leave me.
@babyboy1117, Honestly, you were lumped in bc you went in full force on the "size doesn't matter" argument which sounded really malignant until you continued later to comment and made it way more obvious that you were an ally. In all honesty if I could delete you from that lumped response I totally would have. I mean, everyone was coming at her hard and fast and then later back-pedaled. Which is great b no one has a right to tell someone what's best for them unless they actually have the MD to back it up - you know what I mean... anyway, I just jumped at her defense bc I knew where she was at and I had been in her exact shoes and I got way overprotective. Doesn't change my opinions (which is why I didn't actually delete comments) but I'm super happy people weren't trying to be as harsh as they were originally came off. I just want everyone to feel supported.
