Does it hurt the first time they check your cervix?

It's just uncomfortable and a lot of pressure

It did me because her ass had short fat ass fingers 😬

They made my life a living hell when I was in labor. One nurse hand was so short and fat that she couldn't feel so then another nurse had to come and check behind her in the middle of the most painful contraction

It hurt so bad for me especially since my cervix was high and closed. Then they had to have a trainee nurse check after the regular nurse.

It hurt me and I started cramping after that..

@alimtz0510 i cramped the 1st time after but it didn't hurt while i was being checked.

@alimtz0510 the one time it did hurt was when i was in labor. Before i was admitted they checked me and idk if that made me have a contraction or if i coincidentally had one while being checked but that check hurt pretty bad

I was checked today for the first time and it does hurt but its not bad. I was crampy afterward but it was my main doctor who checked me. Im not sure how it would be with an inexperienced person doing it.

I thought it was painful, but my doctor went up looking to find out where her head was positioned. And I had cramping and small amounts of bleeding after, but they told me that totally normal!

Yes they checked mine today and it hurt so damn bad

@taylorlee616, yeah my Dr. Does that too. She goes all the way up to feel the baby's head.

@nessairieray, well my Dr. Checks if you're dilated, then she goes further up to check the baby's head position and then she spreads her fingers to make you open up more to get the process going.

OMG I hate when they check me. It hurt me like bad when my doctor did it the other week, but I was still closed. And then they checked at the hospital a few days after that and it didn't hurt as bad, but I was already 4cm!!! Wtf!? So I haven't been checked again since then and I go to be induced tomorrow! So I'm dreading them checking me, and checking me again, and again, I know it's for a reason but damn! But after they checked me at the hospital the other day I started bleeding, and kept bleeding for 3 freaking days.. uggh!

@skyeelizabethgettle, oh wow. Yeah, I have my appointment tomorrow and my Dr told me last week she was gonna be checking my cervix this time. So nervous 😩

@alimtz0510 yeah, I dread them checking. I have like panic attacks lol. Some one told me to BREATHE when they do it, and it actually helped ALOT!

Cuz before I'd always like hold my breath, yeah don't do that. Make sure you Breathe and it's really not that bad. It's just more awkward for me than anything... My boyfriend's Grandmother is always with me lol Yeah only a little awkward.
