I have a question about Medicaid. When i was pregnant with my son I lived in Georgia and had Georgia Medicaid...I now live in Alabama so I'll have to get Alabama medicaid. With my last pregnancy I absolutely loved my doctor and the hospital I delivered at. I live only 10 miles from the Georgia state line and the hospital I delivered my son at that I loved so much is only 30 minutes from my house but the closest hospital here in Alabama is 45 minutes away and I've heard many many complaints and nothing good about that hospital....if you have Medicaid in a state does your doctor have to be in that state? My husband doesn't get insurance at his new job until the end of July.

Yes. If not you will have to get everything pre approved and sometimes it wont be paid for. You basically take the chance of your insurance denying claims

That's what I'm so worried about...I'm near Anniston so it would be RMC and it makes me want to wait until the end of July when we get our insurance because it can be used in GA but don't want to wait that long to go to the doctor

@careylee i didnt have my first appointment until 14 weeks. So if you're really worried I say wait. As long as youre taking prenatals and eating and drinking good you should be fine.
