What does the baby oatmeal in the babies formula even do? Like what is it supposed to be for? My sons pediatrician told us it's not good for baby it's really no nutritional value.

We use it for thickening. But at the direction of our Dr. I wouldn't do it if he said not too.

There isn't nutritional value. It's used for so babies with reflux to weigh food down so it doesn't come back up. Also, it's used to fill baby's tummy longer (if it does).

It was good for my baby. He wasn't gaining any weight due to his cause reflux and the doctor had us use oatmeal on his formula. He started gaining weight when we did so it really helped save him.

My daughter had severe stomach issues where she would be constantly constipated. Once she hit 3 months her pediatrician had me put oatmeal in 2 bottles a day to help her go. She finally have a normal stomach but is starting to get constipated again.
