My one year old son has started hitting himself, his father and me(mommy) when he is upset or frustrated. Have any of you mommies dealt with this and should I be concerned?
I worry about everything so this is just another thing to worry about. Anger and mental health issues run in my family so naturally I'm a little nervous.

Show no emotion when you do these things and when he gets up from his timeout hug him and say I love you and hug him
No it's normal, it's an attention getter. But needs to be redirected by grabbing his hand and saying no hitting hurts. Also when he hits himself ignore it, and lay him in bed.

@shiloh2123 hitting is a stage because of the shock value we smile sometimes an they think it's a game, but never allow them to hit you without consequence because they are smarter than you think.
