Might be a dumb question but baby's cord blood, did you donate it? Save it? Do nothing?

I did delayed cord clamping AND I was able to donate the cord blood too.

I would or keep it but I hear it cost alot of money for it to be stored

I wanted to do delayed clamping. But he was dying when he was born so we couldn't do it safely

What does delayed clamping do vs not delaying

@emileewells1153 usually they cit babies cord soon ad they r born. Delayed means u wait till the cord stops pulsing after a couple mins then cut.

@emileewells1153 its not real benefits none as of now in doctors eyes. Getting the last from mom before they r on there own

@emileewells1153 the benefits are that babies are born with 60% of their blood supply if you cut early, vs 100% of oxygen rich blood if you delay the clamp. If you have no medical concerns, it only takes a few extra mins for it to stop pumping so to me, it's worth it for the baby.
