I need some encouragement here please.
My little Athena is a month and a half old. She is failing to thrive... It's a tough thing to hear. She's actually smaller now than she was when we left the hospital. She wasn't a preemie, and she's eating good. I know because she has 4-5 poos and 7-8 pees a day. She's exclusively breastfed, never even touched a bottle before. I've met with a LC and her pediatrician has looked at her, She's not latching easily but when she does, she stays on good and eats for a good 45 minutes swapping sides normally. But she's not gaining weight at all, she's not growing at all. Doctor said if at 2 months there's no change, she has to go to Vanderbilt children's hospital for tests. She eats regularly and good but it can be so emotionally tolling. I have hardly any time for my son because I'm constantly breastfeeding and when I'm not, off Athena isn't sleeping she's crying. I feel like such a terrible mom and had a goal of BFing until at least 3 months but Idk if I can do it anymore. I feel so inadequate and like such a failure and I want to have somewhat of a life back away from the boob. I'm so scared to give up and I don't know what to do. I'm such a failure.
My son went through this. We ended up finding out he had a lip tie as well as a posterior tongue tie. At a month old he was revised and didn't continually gain weight till around 3 months.
My little guy has failure to thrive and is "malnourished". He has several issues going on with him, and I know it's not my fault, but it's still the worst thing to hear! We are currently working our way to help my little guy grow! His doctors said it will probably take him a good 6-12 months to get back on track! Hang in there mama!
@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom she can burn calories trying to nurse? Like from getting too worked up?
Im so sorry 😩 youre doing your best. I know how devastating it feels to not feel good enough. And how truly exhausting that situation is. Perhaps the testing will be a good thing! It sounds like your milk is great but there could be an underlying issue. Of course, I would always try and get more help/opinions from other doctors and pediatricians if possible. Sending prayers to you 💕
Don't feel like a failure!! Each kid grows at a different rate. My first son was born right at 40 weeks only weighing 5lbs 11oz, by day 3 he was down to 5lbs 1oz. Breastfeeding didn't work for us and even when he started formula he was slow to gain weight. You can still nurse and supplement with formula and it would be okay! I'm wondering if maybe she's burning too many calories trying to nurse??
Have you tried talking to @cubanese, she is also a lac maybe she has some advice the other councilor hasn't given you try shooting her a message hope everything works out with your daughter
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.

Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
@brittanya91 that's what I was think I could be as I read it, no worries mama. Charlotte is 4m and wa not at 35 weeks an weighs only 10-12lbs and they said she is small but eats like a champ. I was worried to but as other mom's have said sometimes kids are just small. My previous baby was 18lbs at 3 months so having a smaller one is way different than that. We are doing formula and breast milk and she is gaining but not growing much. Your a good mom don't worry.
