Question. My 6 week old daughter drinks 4 1/2 ounces ever 2-3 hours with that being said could she be thirsty at all ? I ask because her grandmother keeps telling me "she's probably thirsty you should give her some apple juice or water !" Need some advice.

@revajane1011 I thought the same thing till I talked to her doctor. If she is asleep it's 3 hours . She is hungry because e en her pasy won't help sooth her , nothing will. I've tried not to feed her every 2-3 hours by giving her a ounce , swaddling, singing , rocking, music & she isn't having it. @asiaanddonovanmommy that's what I thought. My WebMD baby app says you can give baby apple juice give them as many ounces as they are months like if baby is 2 months give 2 ounces.

No it's an outdated concern. Doctors used to say give water to babies but that is no longer a thing. My sister's in laws sneak water to her baby and we had to show them info on water toxicity in babies. The formula is all they need

No. She's probably over eating actually. It's takes an hour for a baby to digest an oz. So if she's eating 4 is every 2 hours she's only digesting 2 oz. Then adding 4 more back into her tummy. The cycle continues. My six month old is on 6 oz. Every 4 hours. His doctor said that's decent
