ATTENTION BREASTFEEDING MOMS:
Has anyone taken anything to help produce more milk? I feel like my supply is running out. My baby keeps tugging and getting frustrated. When I pump I'm only producing 2-3 ounces. He's almost 3 months and eats a lot. I'm currently taking "let there be milk" drops but I don't really see a difference. It's been 2 weeks. Please help!

Anything more than 3 or 4oz is oversupply. Your pump cannot tell you how much you're producing based on how many oz you get. The pump does not express milk as effectively as your baby does.

If your baby is having the normal amount of diapers, everything is fine. Especially if you're pumping 3oz between feedings.

Have u tried the mother's milk tea? Are u still taking ur prenatal pills?

I'd trust @cubanese before anyone else. Also personal experience I started having problems with production and all I did was "power pump" and literally the next day I got like 24 Oz total through the day and breast fed baby

I remember I was thinking ima try something to help but then I was like let me ask @cubanese first before I waste my time and money lol

I took Fenugreek. It helped a lot. I got sick with the flu while I was still breastfeeding and the medication I was taking stopped my supply almost completely and I got it back when I started taking Fenugreek pills

My lactation consultant recommended that I eat oatmeal in some form daily, and take this as directed... my daughter was born 7 weeks early, and because of that, I had to exclusively pump and bottle feed for the first 3 months or so... and that does not always stimulate your supply as well as having the baby direct on breast! You do what you need to do to feed your child! I took supplements and still only made it to just over 5 months before my breasts stopped producing, no matter what I did... some women can produce milk for years after having a child stop breastfeeding... others don't produce enough no matter how often you have the baby on your breast... everyone is different! Best of luck momma, I hope that helps!!😉

@arivera64, but I feel like he gets frustrated and starts pulling at the nipple as if he's trying to get more out of there. It's weird. I thought I would have a little more milk by now but I don't. 2 months ago I used to leak from breast now not so much.

@cubanese, thank you so much... when you say pace feeding, what exactly does that mean? Could I be feeding him too much? But he always wants to eat 😩

As your supply regulates you stop leaking as much. Not leaking doesn't mean your supply is low. It means your body knows it doesn't need to go crazy.

@anthonysmommie072816, I haven't taken my prenatal pills because the baby was doing a lot of grunting so I wasn't sure why so I just stopped it. Do u think I should start taking them again?

@cubanese, oh my God and all this time I though he should be eating more because he always acts like he's starving. 😳I've probably been spoiling him with the bottle as well... Thank you so much! You are truly helpful... I may bug you some more through this journey lol

@cubanese, one more thing so when I put him on each breast he seems to rush through and will be done by 7-10 min which is why I assumed there's no more milk left and he gets so frustrated. They told me at the hospital to try to keep him on the breast for 15 min. If he's under 15 min and at times under 10 I don't need to be concerned correct?

@cubanese, I guess my biggest fear is not feeding him enough but I guess everyone worries about that... like right now he ate for just a few minutes. How is it possible that it's enough for him? And when I go to pump very little comes out as if he drank it all lol but how much did I produce then? lol I'm sorry to seem like a pest it's just weird to me but I guess nature is just doing what it's suppose to do... 😏
