Its kinda like your trying to leave your body it was the weirdest shit ever my daughter snapped me out of it i was trying to grab her 😥 i think its because ive been having anxiety!@lovelily

@ashleybland what makes it so weird and that no one can explain, is why we all have the experience of extreme fear, of someone else in the room, of pressure on our chest so that it feels like someone is holding us down. It's kinda creepy. 🙃

@ashleybland Anxiety. Stress. It's the opposite of sleep walking, actually. You see, when we sleep our bodies release a hormone (I forget what it's called) that paralyzes our bodies so we don't get up and start acting out our dreams. Sleep walkers sometimes don't have enough of that hormone released before they fall asleep and start walking. On the flip side, our brains are still active when the hormone gets released and even though our body thinks we are dreaming our brains aren't quite ready...we are still awake, but start dreaming and we are paralyzed. Hard to explain. I hope that made sense. Lots of stress and anxiety can cause this to happen.

I had sleep paralysis for years....multiple times, even multiple times during the night. Being aware that it is happening and having no way to wake up from it is the worst. Once you train yourself to realize it's not real, you're not gonna die, and that you are AWARE (lucid dreaming) that you are dreaming and still can't move to wake yourself up....smh. I hated going to sleep. However, I know that it is location related. Move your bed. Sleep in a different room. For a long time it only occured to me while sleeping on the couch. Moved to the bed and it wouldn't happen. Haven't had it happen in a few years, thank God.

Yup I hate it! Been happening to me since I was 9 I'm now 22.
