Once Upon A Time...
There was a beautiful (and stubborn, hyper, loving, rebellious, divaish, tomboy) little girl and her handsome (also stubborn, cute, wants what he wants ((including the computer and phone)), goofball) of a little brother. Now, these two were very sick over the past week. They had coughs, and fevers, and cries, tummy aches, and loss of appetite. Their Mommy was so worried about them, with lots of Dr. trips that week.
But this day was different, today everyone seemed to be feeling better! Their Mommy was so so happy! This was also a special day for another reason! You see this was the little girl's last day of school! The little girl was so happy and excited! The Mommy was so proud of her little girl because of the amazing strides that she had made over the past year!
Last year this little girl started Kindergarten being barely able to speak a complete sentence and now about to finish 1st Grade. She is leaps and bounds past where she was (in other words you can't shut her up!). She can now read some sentences and knows all her letters and is a wiz at math!
The reasons this little girl was having so much trouble is that she had a condition called ADHD and a learning disability called Dyslexia (lovingly bestowed upon her by her mother). The little girl had lots of struggles when at home, listening to her Mommy, not crossing the line to get her way one last time, not being rough with her little brother, and taking charge of her chores and remembering to do things without being told. Some days were better than others, both the little girl and the Mommy would get frustrated with each other at times (probably because they were just alike), but the Mommy even on a really bad day always made sure that the little girl always knew that she was loved!
So on this day, her last day of school, the Mommy can't wait to let the little girl know just how proud she is of her. Of all the accomplishments she has achieved. Because all of them need to be celebrated with this little girl who is working so hard, and who has accomplished so much so fast.
I love you, Samantha Robyn Brooks, you are my number 1 and are my heart and soul. You are a shining star of happiness! Congratulations on moving on to 2nd Grade!
