@ochoastephanie646 once when my oldest had a diaper rash, his step grandmother literally told me to crumble up a mud dauber nest and put it in his diaper! I looked at her like she had a penis growing in the middle of her forehead, and just shook my head and said I would "look into that"
While I'm all into homeopathic remides (as long as they are safe) we have to remember that the majority of these old remedies were thought of long before mondern medicine and aseptic techniques were around. It hasn't been that long since morphine and cocaine were used as over the counter medications!
I agree, opionions are okay on non health related matters. But when it's something concerning the health of a child those opionions or suggestions should be followed by I would ask your doctor what they suggest for the baby. I remember when I had my first, and every female relative wanted to suggest how I should speed up my labor starting at 36 weeks. How they told me oh if he has gas just give him water, hiccups? Give water, constipation give him water...
Luckily I called his doctor and followed his directions. People may mean well but old wives tells aren't always as harmless as they may seem.
