Any thoughts on baby swim lessons...I'm such in fear of dry drowning.... they start at 4 months in Arizona

We started at 6 months but I wish I would've started earlier

It's never too early! And it's great bonding time 💜

(Former swim teacher here) Infant swim lessons are a good idea to teach them how to turn over and float on their backs should they ever fall in water and no one notices.(usually more of a risk when they learn to walk.) Especially if you live close to water or have a pool. They're usually Mommy and Me classes, too, so you can stay with baby in the water the whole time. 😊

As for regular swim lessons that actually teach them strokes and how to move forward in her water, that's really not necessary until at least 2-3 years old. If they don't have the motor skills to crawl or walk, they're not going to be strong enough to pull themselves through water. But definitely take them swimming often to keep them used to the water. 😄

Hope this helps!

We've done swimming. Dry drowning is rare. I'd rather my baby know how to swim because accidents happen even if you think your baby won't be around water without you. In our swimming class we never even put them under or anything.
