When i nursed her this time i didnt let off enough. So i had to have my husband comfort her while i pumped off the rest, and then i had to give it to her in a bottle.
@mcrowell0970 yeah, just right now its once every 3 feedings bc these 2 nights she has to gain weight normally or she cant go home. So im having to pump and supplament in between the times that i actually try to nurse her. 1 oz may be all she actually needs even if that actually is all im producing. They even said that, but they have her on a 2 oz diet bc shes a premi
@heera were also still at the hostpital. Im having to follow their recommendations bc if she doesnt gain weight normally these two nights then she wont be able to come home. I know i can try more when she comes home, but right now its once every 3 feedings.
OK. Well it doesn't matter how engorged you get...she needs to learn to latch when your like that too.....especially since you think your not producing what she eats right now it's best for you to put her on breast so you can regulate that supply. A pump is just a machine she wont get as much like i said....but im only saying that if your wanting to legitimately keep her feeding on breast...
@beebaby the problem is im not letting enough period. Before i nurse her i have to let myself be engorged. Bc im literally not producing enough for her diet that they have her on. Im only producing about an oz but bc shes a premi they have her on 2 oz. Since im engorged to get 2 oz when i nurse im to firm and she cant latch right so i have to pump it off and give it to her. When im not engorged we have to supplament for the rest of her meal bc im only producing half of what she actually eats right now. Shes also used to getting it from the bottle bc shes been getting it that way when im not here. Even though she latches it really depends on my body bc of her diet. Ive been forced to pump every day bc this is the first time since shes been born that ive been with her for longer than an hr. @heera
It may not "seem" like shes getting enough but shes guna get more if you just nurse her instead of pump...she wont get as much that way..if you want her to actually feed on breast you have to keep doing it that way.....so theres really no need to pump unless she's already eaten or she's sleeping...
@mcrowell0970 i will. She was born at 36 weeks and 5 days. So yeah she was borderlined to as i call it, but close enough to early term.
