my midwife just sent me the photos she took at the birth. going through them I came across this one.. this was such a magical birth. I only had a total of 3 hours of hard labor and this was taken in the final 15 minutes. if I coild.gp back and redo all 4 of my labors every single one would be just like this one. in a birth center with loving and compassionate midwives. they allowed me to be in complete control over my entire labor. I was comfortable, when I felt over whelmed they comforted and coached me through contractions and pushes. allowed me to bond with my baby before having me deliver the placenta. I would do all over again.. I am so glad This was my final birth experience

@saraguinn23 I had an epidural with my first 2.. both different experiences, when I became pregnant with my 3rd I said he would be my last son I really wanted an unmediated birth.. but since I was so unsure and a midwife was out of the question.
my unmediated birth in the hospital was much different than in the birth center. they kept pushing meds on me after I repeatedly asked them not to. I was forced to be hooked up to machines and ivs which I insisted not having and meant me laboring on my back the entire time.
if you are going for an unmedicated birth, do your research. know what you want and stick to it. the only way I got through it was controlled breathing, self control, and knowing exactly what I wanted.
@mommab4 amazing story!! Thanks for reply! ☺ I really want to try a water birth I don't want to have an epidural I am scared to have one because people have been telling me about the awful side effects of an epidural.
@saraguinn23 my water birth was an absolute magical and wonderful experience. it still hurt but the water definitely took the edge off and made it more relaxing. I only labored in the water for more than 2 hours ..
When first went in my contractions were every 3 to 7 mins for over 5 hours but still pretty mild before I called my midwife to go to the center. when I got there I got into the tube and my contractions kind of eased off and slowed down. so in ha her check me and I was at a 5 but the contractions completely stopped. so she have me some thing to try and get them going again and I walked up and down the stairs for another 1 hr with no luck. so she sent me home. as soon as I stepped out of the center the contractions started again just more intense.
I did not want to go back because I was scared they would die off again.
so I labored intensely at home for a good hour and half and started feeling the need to push so I called my midwife and told my husband we had to go. when I got there I threw all not cloths off and got into the water as fast as I could. I Had a couple contractions laying on my side then moved to my knees and my husband applied counter pressure during contractions.. after about 6 contractions I changed to a squatting position bexause I felt the urge to push. I did this in hopes my water would break and the baby would descend. sure enough 2 contractions later my water broke and I felt him slide down the canal I knew it was time. I returned to the kneeling position (This is what was captured by one of the attending midwives) and started pushing 3 strong pushes later He was here

We he was completely delivered they handed him to me through my legs (I pulled him out of the water onto my chest) they directed me to sit in the tub to bond with the baby before getting out to deliver the placenta.
