Anybody that had gallbladder issues, could you tell me what all your symptoms were? This is the 3rd time in 2 months that I've been sick and the doctors can't figure out what it is.

I had to have mine removed when I was 18. I had been having problems with it for 3 years prior. The doctors did test after test after test and could not find anything for 3 years.

I have, my symptoms were pain in the upper middle part of my stomach mainly under my sternum, Nausea and vomiting, constipation, and stools that beacame lighter and lighter in color, at one point before my surgery they became almst white. I also had an issue with belching and a taste of sulfer in my mouth right before they figured out what was going on and removed it. The ultrasound did not show any stones and luckily my doctor decided to have another test done. It was called a HIDA scan. They injected some type of nuclear medicine in through and IV and took a series of pictures. The test showed that my gallbladder was only functioning at like 8% so really not at all. When the test results came back I had surgery to have it removed within 24 hours. If you're experiencing any of those symptoms or other gallbladder related symptoms I would ask for the test. Gallstones aren't the only reason for gallbladder issues.

Thank you so much guys, ive been having a lot of stomach issues lately and its very similar. My aunt said to request the hida scan because they didn't find anything on my ultrasound either. Definitely doing that today. Did you feel a lot better when it was removed? Did you have to change your diet at all? @lara_johnson95 @andrea.herrington

@jgood2220 I also had a hida scan done and it didn't shoe that anything was wrong with mine. I went through multiple tests over a 3 year period and the could not find anything till one night I went in with really bad pain and they did another ultrasound and I guess they saw something. Came back in my room and told me I was having surgery the next morning. I has to change my diet at first. I couldn't eat anything greasy or spicy and some times pasta. I would eat those things and with in mins be in the bathroom with really bad diarrhea. I still get an upset stomach if I eat stuff like that. Especially pasta salad. Idk why just that kind of pasta but it is no where near as bad. Your body just takes time to get used to not having the gallbladder there.

I had that last night, i had chicken nuggets at one point then hamburger helper for dinner (which was early) and french toast sticks before bed and my stomach was in so much pain along with diarrhea so I'm pretty sure its my gallbladder. This is the third time it started up. I took carafate which seemed to help then after i feel better in a week or two it comes right back. I'd hate to change my diet but I'm so tired of being sick. I'm so afraid of them not finding anything on the hida scan though @lara_johnson95

@jgood2220 like I said they didn't find anything when they did mine. But when they did my surgery and took it out they said it was full of sludge.

Ugh i hope they find something on mine, i don't want to deal with this anymore and I'm supposed to go out drinking tonight and this weekend for my hubbys 21st birthday and I'm worried I'm going to get sick from it. This sucks lol @andrea.herrington
