When my water broke nothing was happening after some hours and they started pitocin and it was literally the worst!!! The contraction were literally back to back I had to break. I ended up screaming and yelling during every contraction instead of breathing it was so bad and embarrassing lol

Yeah I got the epidural at 7 cm and was pushing less than an hour later but it took me 5 hours to go from 5 cm to 7 cm, I came in at 3 cm and they inserted a balloon to help dilate @beebaby

@mommy763, yes I take a lot of hot baths to ease my pain and sleep with 1000 pillows lol and thank you for the advice. I'm going to just wait it out and hope she comes on her on soon. She's due in 6 days. Not rushing her at all

I agree with. @beebaby I also waited till the pain was too much with my second born and got the epidural at 7 cm because the hospital stopped at 7 cm and epidural actually made my labor go faster for some reason @zrivera22

My first epidural was fine, but with the second I still have horrible back pain sometimes because of it. So to me, youre taking a chance it might be fine or it might make the back pain you have now worse after you give birth. In my opinion the best thing is to wait till she comes on her own. My sister had really bad back pain also because of a previous injury, when she was pregnant she use take a lot of warm baths it helped her

Yup. And ask what there type is. Some hospitals stop epidural at 7cm and some let you go until 9cm. Just know you don't miss the threshold. Good luck momma. You got this.

You need to just go in with an open mind. Take the contractions as they come and see where your pain tolerance is. I have a high pain tolerance and it is still painful. Just depends on what you can handle. You can get it up to 7cm at any facility. Some let you go past that. Just wait and see what you can handle momma

@mommy763, thanks I really want her to come naturally. But I was in a car accident when I was 16 weeks which causes back problems and since she's starting to move down and the contractions are making the pain even worse which I was I was thinking about inducing only if I was asked if I wanted to.

The epidural helped me to sleep after the long labor. I can't say I recommend it. I liked not having it because I went home the next day.

@beebaby, okay so you would say you liked the epidural ? I'm getting nervous as time gets closer and I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Having the epidural too soon just made it feel so unnatural , I mean inducement in general is unnatural and so is the epidural, but with inducement I really dont think its possible to do with no pain management like @beebaby said its way too painful and contractions are really close, I would of waited for my second to come on his own but I really wanted my husband to be there for his birth and he was working over 3 hours away and I was alone with no car with a 2 year old. Even with two inductions I wouldn't suggest it a less there's a important reason to do so not just medically necessary.

The labor experience was fine both times, second time was better though because I waited to get the epidural I have never had natural labor, the first inducement was medically needed he was late. My second was elective.

My first they made me get it because I was going for c section but then he came. The second was induction without epidural and it sucked. I was too late to get the epidural so i was screwed. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

@beebaby I got induced with Justice. My water broke but I had absolutely no contractions even 6-7 hours later still nothing. I had to get antibiotics for group b strep but during that whole time nothing so they gave pitocin. Did I really need it? This time I'm going natural.

I had contractions from 34 weeks that they could explain. It was the worst so i feel ya.

@beebaby,okay and I hear good and bad stories about being induced so I guess it's a 50/50 but I would rather just go natural. I'm just trying everything like walking swimming and I have a yoga ball. I've started having contractions. So I'm hoping any day now. But the pain in my back is killing me that's why I'm like 25% like uhhh I may go with the induction just to get it over with

Yes. My first 2 kids. 42 weeks and 41 weeks. I tore with my first because labor was so hard. Really they give you pitocin in small amounts which basically make your contractions hard mimicking the labor process. My labor with induction was 39 and 26 hours. My natural labor with my daughter was 6 hours once I went to the hospital

@beebaby, have you ever been induced? And I'm not going to asked to be induced but if they ask I don't know how I would answer I'm reading up on them. I'm just hoping I go in labor so I don't even have to go through that I'd probably say no even though I'm over being pregnant. I want the baby to come on her own.

That is the only way you will induce me. Induction is forced labor 10 times worse then actual labor. The contractions are harder and closer together. Hardly get a break.
