Best way to reduce fever? (No Tylenol)

Bout to really sound country for what I'm about to say but it works. Cut up slices of a potato and place it in the sock . Draws the fever out. You'll see the potato dry out as it pulls the fever. My mom did this with me and I do it with my husband and kid.
