My 3 yr old gives water to the cat and dog, uses a wascloth to clean the walls, puts clothes in the hampers, he puts socks and underwear in the drawers when i do laundry, takes dishes to the sink etc
I'd say whatever they're capable of doing. I wouldn't limit it to certain things. When my son is that age I'll show him how to do whatever he's trying to help me with.
My 2yr old will "help" feed the dog, I let her put safer dishes away, swiffer sweep, wipe/dust the table, pick up toys, put things away, put away laundry, stir some foods (usually yogurt when I am cooking), put her dishes in the sink (it makes a mess sometimes but it's so cute), help weed the garden (digging or putting the weeds I pulled in the bucket). Toddlers can actually do alot! :)
