So I'm thinking of doing some sort of 'chore chart' for the boys this summer since they will be home more and making more messes. They're 8 &10. Ideas?
Yeahhhh mines a walking terror right now 😫 into everything and always testing his limits now. @arivera64,
I know 😫 3 of them... then there's daddy too. Haha. I think I need a chore list for him too 😂 @arivera64,
Yes, always. Ours is also the not listening thing. Like we ask them to do something and they decide to just do whatever they want or just stare at us blankly. Or more recent it's the 'talking back' and 'always having something to say' nonsense. And the fighting, like always kicking and punching and mouthing. @arivera64,
Yeah that's exactly what I'll need to do as well. I'm done playing games, they've kinda got out of hand recently, so things need to change around here. I'm hoping this helps, or they will not have a fun summer. @arivera64,
Perfect! We have a 'rules and consequences' chart right now on the fridge but it definitely needs some tweaking and modifying, especially for summer. And us to follow it more strictly 🙊 lol. @arivera64,
That's a great idea too! Thank you. 😀 do you have their responsibilities typed out or something for them to see? @arivera64,
😉 and while i don't believe in getting paid for helping around the house, i have a jar that the kids can pick from blindly at the end of the week and it includes things like
Renting a movie and having popcorn, staying up 30min past bedtime, baking cookies, get a happy meal etc. Helps them do a better job with their chores
Yes it'll also help with the bored faces and I think it's time for them to do more than just putting their clothes away and making beds. @arivera64,
Yeah that's perfect! Something that won't take them forever but a simple task to teach responsibility as well as help me out a bit! Good ideas! @arivera64,
Thank you! Yeah they fold their clothes and put away and fix their bed. But was thinking of having them do something else as well, but nothing too complex or that I want a certain way. Lol. I'll prob have them help clean the table and walls and other things like that. @arivera64,
10yr old wash the dishes. 8 yr old rinse the dishes.
10yr old put laundry to wash (if you have a washer)
8yr old can fold.
Etc
I have a responsibility chart. This way i can include things like practice reading and writing once a day too.
My 3yr old gives the pets water and wipes the walls in the hallway etc.
My 7 and 5yr olds clean the table, rinse dishes, fold laundry. ....
@shananaginsx yes it helps a lot they get rewarded at the end of the week if they stayed on task with everything without being told
