New to this app, so here's my first question, I have a month old baby and she's my first I have noticed she confuses her day/night .. she sleeps during the day and is awake at night and randomly cries.. or could it just be colic?

@vvrobinson, to each their own. Waking her and feeding her every three hours helped us. And letting her sleep longer and wake herself up at night.

@luceromommy, I agree with your point on the schedule however all of the baby books I have read and the pediatricians ive spoken to have specifically said not to wake the baby. It's good if they sleep. Newborns will always wake when they're ready to nurse on their own so waking them shouldn't be necessary. Once they get older you actually want them to sleep past usual feeding times cause it preps them to sleep through the night. I still nurse my daughter and at first it was on demand and at 6 months we gradually introduced solids and she's been working her way up to less boob and more food. She only uses the boobs to go down for a nap or bedtime. She typically wakes twice at night for boob but she hasn't been recently and I'm totally ok with letting her sleep so I can get more sleep myself 😂🙈

@vvrobinson, okay it makes sense also because babies are in the womb with not much lighting and BAM they come in to this world and of course they'll confuse Day/night because they are new to everything! Thank you! Yes, having an over tired baby is horrible.

@ldavis4415, that's the thing we don't have the lights completely off, they are dimmed ..I should try that.. we had a routine going right when we got home from the hospital as well but we fell off of it and I feel like baby girl just got it mixed up because of us, awesome routine you have going on it seems very relaxing before bedtime I will have to try it!

It's very common at that age to have a mixed up routine. We had that with our daughter and talked to the doctor about it. She said that it will become normal in time. She said what we could do is gradually push back on each nap to finally get her sleeping at night and awake during the day. But you have to be careful cause having an over tired baby is horrible. Your little one will get it soon.

My daughter only gets up once at night and has only been getting up once a night since she was 3 weeks old. we have a bedtime routine for her that we established as soon as we got home from the hospital. I make sure that I have almost all the lights turned off in our bedroom and if the TV is on that it is turned down almost all the way. We put her sleep gown on her and a fresh diaper. I rub her down in baby night time baby lotion. Then I feed her. By the time her bottle is empty she is already pretty sleepy. We will normally snuggle for like 15 min and during that time she falls alseep. I had the same routine when I was breastfeeding.

I haven't lol. I'm still trying to figure it out. I feed her every two hours sometimes more. She just began to cry at night. Caught me off guard

@luceromommy, yes I've heard once being on a schedule they'll soon or later get better with their sleep, maybe since my schedule is all over it's making it a little hard to adjust but thank you ☺️

Be patient. Wake her up. Feed her on a schedule that works for you. Give it time, she'll get into it. Mine was like that now sleeps all night at 3 months

@rwarden9, I mostly do breastfeeding & once she's done I try and give her formula to make sure she's full.

@elysiansmama, thank you for your reply ☺️ , okay yes that makes a lot of sense and it was just a little concerning since it's my first baby, I'm new to all of this , but she sleeps in her bassinet.

Breastfeeding or formula feeding if you don't mind me asking...

Hi welcome 👋🏼

I had the same experience with my daughter she wouldn't go to bed until 9-10 am🙀 but I think it helps to get a bedtime routine and don't worry too much about a sleep schedule. U can gradually get her to sleep later and later where it will eventually be night when she goes to sleep. She might just still be wanting some cuddles from u at night, not necessarily colic. Where does she sleep ?

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

lillyb Good job giving ur self a break we all need them. See if maybe she will nurse
delete____ I have to commend you for stepping away, momma!! Everyone reacts to a child screaming differently and
imisssleep123456789 Ugh I remember those days. With both kids I decided to always top them off with formula.
