Is it wrong for me not to want my boyfriends mom in the room when I deliver my son?
@victoriahernandez118, that's how I did it! My husband and my doula! Thats it, I actually told them specifically that no one else was allowed in until an hour after delivery!
@beebaby, yea sure. Idk Ima just tell my mom she isn't allowed and it'll just be a him so I can avoid this. I have high stress levels as it is.
@dreamermom, maybe if I show him this he'll understand but then again he's a man he won't get it 😒 idk Ima just tell my mom she isn't allowed in and it's only me and him
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I have a story about this that went bad if you wanna hear it
Well then you just tell her but as upsetting as it is, what you don't want it to have to choice on that day. At this point he wouldn't be allowed in the room for being an ass about it. Why would you not want your mother. Come on that is easy.
Having someone in the room who you are not comfortable with can actually slow or reverse your labor... which can draw it out, making it ridiculously longer, and potentially cause it to stall out enough to need a csection because you fail to progress... back in the day when midwives took a front seat, they would not even call the (male) doctor in until the labor had progressed to almost transition, because they documented that having someone unfamiliar or uncomfortable in the room would stall labor, and could cause complications! Do what works for you... he's not the one pushing something out of his vagina, so it's not really about what he or his mother wants! It's not about them, it's about your body and your baby working together to bring them into the world! That all! That's my 2 cents!
@beebaby, it isn't mature of him but he won't see it that way.
So what 2 people does he think should be welcome. That isn't mature of him at all.
@beebaby, yes we did and he said whatever I'm comfortable with and now it's a totally different story.
@beebaby, yea, well he just said he's not telling his mom. That I have too. Cause it's not fair and then he's like make to where both of them can't come in. 😒 this makes me feel as tho wanting a baby was a huge fucking mistake cause no one can get along on his side. My family is totally cool wth anything I do but his family isn't. It's fucking insane. 😒 I'm officially upset about this now 😭😓😞
All the petty crap about watching baby dont matter. This is your family and they can be a part or not but don't give up the delivery you want and deserve and resent them becsuse your trying to avoid confrontation. Make a decision and stand strong. You want your mom and husband. Boom that is it
Right so that is your mom and husband. I know he doesn't want to hurt his mom but she can come right after. It's not fair to you. Make your request and stick to it and he needs to man up.
@beebaby, during labor my doctor will only allow 2. Cause he wants me as stress free as possible
@beebaby, my boyfriend doesn't want to hurt his mom, that's his problem I don't have a problem telling her it's just, I don't wanna fight. Who knew having a baby would be stressful. They got upset with me when I said I wouldn't let his sister babysit the baby and they still haven't let that go and that was last month. Imagine this lmao
Your mother is your mom. She ain't yiur mom. How many are allowed during labor?
It's not your job to tell her, it's her son. My hub didn't want his mother and neither did I so he told her she can visit a few days after the baby is born. Period. I
He needs to handle his family and you handle yours
@beebaby, I wish I could be that upfront with people. I just don't want any fighting. I try to avoid arguing cause I'm certain they won't let it go if I let my mom in and not her.
@krenee1120, yea and I know if she's there she's gonna wanna be all up in between my legs, and I'm not okay with that. And he doesn't understand why.
@mami1234, it's okay love and yea it makes me extremely uncomfortable. Like I'm okay with my mom cause she's seen everything before.
Nope. My mother in law wanted to be but was not invited. It is our celebration. Not hers
I'm sorry I don't want someone other than those I feel comfortable with and staff to see my vagina . I would explain that to him as well. It's a comfort thing
@victoriahernandez118 oh sorry I miss read your status but she definitely doesn't need to be there if your uncomfortable .
@mami1234, I was asking about his mom not him.
@dreamermom, lol that's good point. I'm just worried this is going to cause some arguing. Yeno
@raisingbandb, okay cause I feel bad cause I want my mom there and my boyfriend and that's it. He says it's not fair that my mom gets to be there and his mom don't, and he went as far as saying he'll go out and let his mom take his place in the room.
Not if he wasn't there after y'all found out that you were pregnant .
No it's your call... I look at it like this... if they were not there when that baby was made... they don't need to be there when it's born! 😅
