My SO already wants another baby. He wants to try again when she is 6 months. I want to wait at least a year and a half to two years because I want to enjoy my little girl first.

My opinion is hell no. 16 year old is still a kid. Kids now a days want to be grown so bad and be in adult relationships and situations. I know when my daughters are 16 and they tell me they are dating an 18 year old. I will surely flip my lid.

Tell him it's not always safe to get pregnant again so soon. It's typically recommended to wait at least a year, even 2-3 years, to give your body time to recover. There are risks that could be harmful to both you and the next baby if you get pregnant again too soon. (In you, weakened pelvic structure, abnormal bleeding, anemia, hypertension, and increased mortality rates during delivery just because your body doesn't have the energy it needs yet. For the next baby the risks are low birth weight, premature birth, and possible congenital abnormalities.)
That being said, I got pregnant when my oldest was ten months and everything went perfectly fine, so I'm not sure the percentage of those risks. Don't let them scare you if you DO happen to get pregnant again. That's why you see a doctor throughout. To make sure everything goes well. But you can at least use that to convince your SO it's okay to wait a little longer. 😮
