@mybaby519, not sure what ur nationality is but I'm white and didn't know much about jaundice when my son was born he had it and had to be checked every hour we were told Hispanic males have the highest jaundice rate of all races my husband had it at birth and had to stay in hospital and not come home with his mom. Sunlight does help a lot. Babies get this bc it's caused by the liver it just takes a while for the body to start functioning normal. I would make a dr appt for Tuesday morn early and in the mean time stay in the sun and nurse baby lots so he can poop

His bilirubin level likely isn't high then. My baby was completely yellow lol, we had to use the blanket and light for over 24 hrs. It was bad but she's fine and he'll be fine I'm sure. Your doctor will probably just tell you the same. :) when we had her first appointment after being released from the hospital her eyes were still yellow and they said just to keep putting her in the window like I was doing.

It's normal in newborn babies, some get it bad like my daughter did and have to be put under a UV light. Most get better by pooping and being in indirect sunlight. It's not bad, it goes away.

It just happens when their bilirubin levels are high. They usually do blood work to check their bilirubin levels. I probably would just call your pediatrician but with it being memorial weekend they probably won't be open tomorrow. Do they have a after hours number you can call? Does his skin look yellow? It goes away with treatment. They thought my daughter had it so they just had me watch her and they kept checking her levels. My niece had it and had to use a bilirubin blanket.

Probably jaundice. Put him in front of a sunny window when you can and makes sure he's eating so he can poop it out.
