Have not been able to post here yet, but my turn came! Say hello to Ethan Dwayne Blassingame. Born at exactly 39 weeks, May 25th at exactly 11:00 P.M. He weighed 6 pounds and 11 oz, and was 19 inches and a quarter long. I was in pre-labor from about 4 in the morning to about 10:43, then it was go time. I had terrible contractions all day long, threw up three times, and hadn't slept much at all. They started me on loopy drugs to subside the contraction pains, then admitted me to labor and moved me into the labor and delivery room, which I was in for the remainder of the day until little man was ready to make his appearance. Took me 3 to 4 pushes, an episiotomy, and a little help from forceps to guide him out. He was out in less than thirty minutes! I have a second degree, almost third degree cut. If they had not cut me then I would have torn worse, but I had an epidural so i didn't feel anything. My water broke at 7:33 P.M.,and after that it was a waiting game. They checked my cervix about every couple of hours, once I was at a 9 they started prepping me for delivery. It went by smoother than I thought it would, and little man came out crying and dazed. They did his hepatitis shot, weighed him, cut his umbilical cord, measured the circumference of his head, took his blood sugar and his footprints, and then handed him over to me for skin to skin contact while they took care of my placenta and stitches. His daddy and grandma got to love on him a little bit while I was holding him, and we fell instantly in love. It was long and tiring, but so worth it in the end. We were in the hospital starting Thursday, and then went home on Saturday. Now we're home and he's doing great. My baby boy is finally here, and I couldn't be more blessed 😍💙
